EXODUS 12:1-13

1     ¶  And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

EXODUS 12:2

2    This month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month of the year to you.

EXODUS 12:3

3    Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of [their] fathers, a lamb for an house:

EXODUS 12:4

4    And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take [it] according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

EXODUS 12:5

5    Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take [it] out from the sheep, or from the goats:

EXODUS 12:6

6    And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

EXODUS 12:7

7    And they shall take of the blood, and strike [it] on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

EXODUS 12:8

8    And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; [and] with bitter [herbs] they shall eat it.

EXODUS 12:9

9    Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast [with] fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

EXODUS 12:10

10    And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

EXODUS 12:11

11    And thus shall ye eat it; [with] your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it [is] the LORD'S passover.

EXODUS 12:12

12    For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I [am] the LORD.

EXODUS 12:13

13    And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy [you], when I smite the land of Egypt.

GENESIS 9:12 - 17

12     ¶  And God said, This [is] the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that [is] with you, for perpetual generations:

GENESIS 9:13

13    I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

GENESIS 9:14

14    And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

GENESIS 9:15

15    And I will remember my covenant, which [is] between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

GENESIS 9:16

16    And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that [is] upon the earth.

GENESIS 9:17

17    And God said unto Noah, This [is] the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that [is] upon the earth.

TOKEN.THE_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-19  SUNDAY_  63-0901M

10-1    Now, there's a life, a blood, a life, and a soul in the life. The soul is the nature of the life. Therefore it had no certain nature. It was an animal. Therefore, the blood stood for a token that the life had been given.

But in this glorious place, under this covenant, there is a difference between the Blood and the Life. The Token for the believer today is the Holy Ghost, not a blood, a chemistry; but it is the Holy Spirit of God. That is the Token that God requires of the church today. God must see this Token. He must see it in every one of us.

Therefore, as the evening shadows are appearing, and the wrath is ready to be poured out from on high upon the ungodly nations, and upon the ungodly unbelievers, upon the--the professors without a possession, upon these things... And I've tried to unfold myself and live right among it to see where it was standing before I said these things.

102-2 EPHESIAN.CHURCH.AGE  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.3

Thus what God worked out here in the garden was His predestinated plan. And when Satan had brought about that which was necessary to the purpose of God, then man could not get to the Tree Of Life in the garden. Certainly not. It wasn't time. But an animal (animal had caused the fall had it not? let animal life be shed) was taken and his blood shed and then God had communion with man again. Then there was to come a day when God would appear in flesh, and by means of His humiliation He would restore fallen man and make him a partaker of that Life Eternal. Once you see this, you can understand the serpent seed and know that it was no apple Eve ate. No, it was the degradation of humanity by intermingling the seed.

WISDOM.VERSUS.FAITH_  JEFF.IN  V-3 N-17  SUNDAY_  62-0401

57-5    Now, notice, by faith Abel saw the revelation, the vision, and brought a living, running blood; because life was in the blood. Life is in the stem of the--of the flower, and it's botany life which has no feeling. (I was in hopes that would soak in!)

Abel by faith staying with the Word, by faith, not by wisdom, by faith he seen that it was sex, blood. The blood cell comes from the male, The man has the blood cell in the sperm. The hemoglobin, is--the blood, comes through the male. And Adam knowed that it wasn't apples, and peaches, and potatoes, or whatever it was, that brought them out of the garden of Eden, that caused the sin; it was sex blood, and he offered blood back. By faith he done it, not by wisdom. How is a man through wisdom going to understand it, when the whole Bible, and the whole church of God is built upon Divine revelation by faith! "Upon this rock, I'll build My church." See?

"Aw," they say, "sure, we believe that." Then where is the Life of Christ in these forms? Where is the Life of Christ?

LAW.HAVING.A.SHADOW_  BINGHAMTON.NY  FRIDAY_  54-1203

E-24    Cain was first given in the garden of Eden, the man was in a perfect state. After while he fell, and then he marred his perfection. He marred his inheritance with God, lost his--his fellowship and was cut off away from God. When I think of perfection, then how could we ever be perfect?

Now, the writer here said, these sacrifices which was offered every year continually could never make the comer unto perfect. The requirement is perfection, and the sacrifice of animal life could never make the comer perfect.

Animal life, the blood of animals, goats, heifers, sheep, so forth was animal blood, and in the bloodstream lays life. Life is in the blood cell. Life lays in blood.

PERFECTION_  JEFF.IN  ER 35-54  FRIDAY_  57-0419

35    The blood made a covering, but it could not perfectly atone; for the man left the building with the same desire to sin as he had in the first place. But doing this, he was looking forward to a time when there would be a perfect Lamb come. And he did it on the burnt offering, because it was the only way he knew about.

So, you see, when the blood was pouring and the life went from the animal, it could not come back to the man; for one was animal, one was man: an innocent animal to a guilty man.

TOKEN.THE_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-19  SUNDAY_  63-0901M

9-6    Notice, for the animal life could not come back upon the human being. When the blood was shed, the life went out, of course, 'cause it was a unit. And when the life's blood was gone from it, the life being different from the blood... Now, the blood is the chemistry of the life, but the life is something different from the blood. But the life is in the blood. And the animal life could not come back upon the worshipper. When he shed this blood of the lamb, he had to apply the chemistry, because that the--the life was gone and could not come back. Because it could not come upon a human being, 'cause the animal life doesn't have a soul. The animal doesn't know that he's naked, and he--he just--he doesn't realize sin. It knows none. So therefore, it is a living being, but not a living soul. Therefore, that animal life could not come back upon a human life, because it didn't have a soul in that life.

TOKEN.THE_  DALLAS.TX  V-19 N-12  SUNDAY_  64-0308

19    Now, the worshipper then, seen beneath this blood, showed that he had carried out Jehovah's request, and he was identified. The token showed he was identified with the slain lamb that Jehovah had required. The work was done. What a perfect type today of Christ and the believer. When the Token is displayed to the believer, then It shows that it's been accepted and the work has been done.

Then the blood was a token of identification, the blood itself. The animal bled, died, and his blood was on the wall. Now, animal life that was in the blood... And life is in the blood; we know that. The Bible said so, and science proves it. Life is in the blood. So therefore, when the animal was killed, and the life was broken from the animal, the blood had to be the chemistry of the blood, to stand for the token. Because the life that was in the blood could not come back upon the believer, because it was an animal's life.

And an animal life and a human life is absolutely different. There's no--nothing in it at all. You took--take an animal's blood and put in you, you'll die. So you see, we--it's a--it's a different life in the animal blood than there is in the human blood, because the human has a soul. The animal has no soul.

QUEEN.OF.SHEBA_  TIFTON.GA  SUNDAY_  60-0110

E-75    Then after He was baptized in water, John saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and going on Him, a Voice saying, "This is My beloved Son (correctly like this) in Whom I am pleased to dwell in."

God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Jesus said, "It's not Me that doeth these things; it's My Father. I--the Son can do nothing in Himself but what He sees the Father doing."

And then God was with us, God above us, God with us in Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. And then when that blood cell was broke at Calvary and the Blood was shed, the Spirit... Under the old dispensation, sin was just covered, not forgiven, covered, because the blood of goats and bulls would not take away sin; it only covered it.

But when the--the--the life that was in the animal that died, the life could not come back and be a spirit with the human being, because it was animal life without a soul. But when Jesus died, it was a soul of God. And when that cell was broke, it sanctified a Church that the Holy Spirit could live in us who were sexual born. Then it's God above us, God with us; now it's God in us.

TOKEN.THE_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-19  SUNDAY_  63-0901M

4-7    A token, "The blood shall be to you a token." Now, what is, first, a token? It is a word that's commonly used among we English speaking people, especially here in America.

A token is a--really, the dictionary says that a "token" is a "sign." It is a sign of a fare price paid (See?), that the fare or--or a--or a price (a required price) that's been paid, like a fare on a railroad or a fare on a bus line.

You go in and purchase your--your fare, and then they give you a token; and that token cannot be spent for nothing else but to that railroad line. And it is a token to the railroad company that you have paid your fare. It's a token, and you can't spend it for nothing else. It doesn't work on any other line. It just works on that line only, and it's a--it's a token.
