Third Seal                                          

Revelation 6: 5-6

 

5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and its rider had a balance in his hand;

6 and I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not harm oil and wine!"

 

  • Lo, a black horse:
  • Dark time, coming out of the dark ages.  All hope was gone, everything was smothered out.  A time of midnight to the true believers.
  • A lap over time.
  • A pair of balances in his hand, a voice came out of the midst of the 4 beast saying a measure of wheat for a penny and three measures of barley for a penny:
  • Wheat and barley is the natural staff of life.  It is what “bread” is made out of.
  • The antichrist is so incarnate in the pope and Catholic hierarchy that they begin to charge people for a hope of eternal life.  These are called “Novenas”. Remember the study on the time of Martin Luther, the church had a price list for sins.
  • He is stripping the people of their money thus the church during this time is gathering all the wealth of the world.
  • The Catholic Church must hold the wealth of the world to fulfill scripture – Revelation  18.
  • Priest had “power” to pray a person out of purgatory, for enough money.  They are still doing this today.

 

  • See thou hurt not the oil and the wine:
  • Oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit.  Leviticus 8:12 and Zechariah 4-12 and Matthew 25: 3-4.
  • Wine symbolizes stimulation of revelation
  • Oil and wine is associated together in the bible.
  • What is this voice saying to the rider – keep your hands off of my anointed during this time you are riding and perverting the world.  Don’t touch my chosen few; there will be a little group just as in every age who will not get caught up in the antichrist system for their day.

 

·        Note – one of the 4 beast declared “A measure of wheat …., the voice came out of the midst of the beast.  Who was it?  The Lamb spoke himself “hurt not the oil and wine”.  He is personally protecting His own during this dark hour.

·        This third seal consists of black hours.  The beast that comes to combat him is a Man.  The rider is now called “Incarnate False Prophet”.  The ages it compasses is the latter part of Thyatira and all of Sardis and Philadelphia.  These ages were spiritually dead and black because this is the time when all denominations were being set up and formed the belief in the Catholic hierarchy and their words took over or “incarnated”.
