BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_  PHOENIX.AZ  FRIDAY_  57-0301

E-12    It's too bad that we Gentiles don't do the same. But we turn our children to a Sunday school teacher, twenty minutes on Sunday morning and let them lick the streets with the world the rest of the week. But what we need is to bring up the child in the way that it should go and when it gets old, it'll not depart from Him.

And how his mother used to drill into him to always love and respect Jehovah. And how he loved to hear the story of how that his people was brought out of Egypt, how a great Light followed. They followed this Light and brought them out of Egypt to the promised land, where they then dwelt. How that they opened up the Red Sea, God did to let the children pass through. The brazen serpent and the many stories that was told him...

BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_  EDMONTON.AB  FRIDAY_  57-0809

E-20    And one of his greatest delights was to go in in the afternoon before his nap time, and let his mother get him up in her arms. And how he used to look at those big soft eyes of his mother as she stroked his little black hair back out of his eyes, and begin to tell him Bible stories.

You know there's something about bringing up a child in the way that it should go. Teach it the right thing, and when it's old, it'll not depart from it.

And he used to remember the stories that his mother told him of the great mighty Jehovah, of how Jehovah used to blast forth His voice in a time of trial and change the situation.

WHY.ARE.WE.NOT.A.DENOMINATION?_  JEFF.IN  V-11 N-7  SATURDAY_  58-0927

3    It was certainly good, Brother Jeffreys, to get to shake your hand back here, and also to hear your boy sing that song, and you play. I kind of like that, father and son. Don't you like that? "Bring up a child in the way that it should go." That's right, Mr. Guenther, you--you know that that's right, both of you. "Bring up a child in the way that it should go, and when he gets old it'll not depart." And that's true. There may be some times that he may depart from it, but it won't depart from him. See? It'll--it'll always stay with him. That early training and whatever he's been brought up to do, it'll--it'll certainly stay with him. Now, this is...

BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_  SAN.JUAN.PR  MONDAY_  59-0209

E-14    And he remembered too that she used to tell him Bible stories. That's good for mothers to tell your children those things. "Bring up a child in the way it should go, and when it gets old, it--it will not depart from you." That's what the Scriptures says. And she would rock him, and tell him of the great Jehovah.

There was one story that he likes specially. That was about the days of Elijah the prophet. He loved to think of that great mighty prophet and of the Shunammite woman. How that this woman was a good woman. Though she was a Shunammite, she knowed that that prophet was a man of God. And she liked to do kind things for him. So one day she had her husband to build him a little room, so that in his traveling, he could just stay in that little room built on the side of their house.

INFLUENCE.OF.ANOTHER_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-11  SATURDAY_  62-1013

37    You know what I think? Everybody has their own opinion. But one of the greatest, and to my opinion, the greatest president that we ever had in this nation was Abraham Lincoln. Now, not because he was a Republican, but because he was what he was, a godly man. And he was raised, and he--to serve God. And he said, "If there's anything that I want to give praise to," he said, "or my life was influenced by, was a godly mother who taught me to pray and to know Jesus as my Saviour."

Oh, your family's what you are. You raise your child in a certain environment; it's got a ninety-eight per cent better chance to go right than it has to if you bring it up in the wrong way. "Bring up a child in the way that it should go, and when it's old it'll not depart from it." Be brought up right, teach your children to do right, to be honest, to be square and fair even when they're in school.

INFLUENCE_  SHREVEPORT.LA  V-17 N-8  SATURDAY_  63-1130B

24    This young boy Uzziah that we're speaking of this morning, he was Isaiah's hero. Isaiah, the young prophet in the days of Uzziah was watching this young fellow, because Uzziah was a great man. He come from a--a fine background. His father and mother, both were strictly staunch believers in God. And they'd raised their boy to serve and to honor God.

One of the great lackings of our day today in America and the rest of the world is godly parents to set an influence upon their children. The parents of this day got away from the principles of the Scripture. They went more to the fashions of the world. And the churches did the same thing. In doing that we let it loose and brought the world into the church. And that's the reason we have this great day of, if I'd say it respectfully here before these young people. The reason we got so many hoods, and so forth, as they call it, and--and bad characters too much of it is because of the home life that they were influenced by in their earlier days. I'm still a believer that, "Bring up a child in the way that it should go, and when it gets old it will not depart from it."

JUST.ONE.MORE.TIME.LORD_  PHOENIX.AZ  V-9 N-8  SUNDAY_  63-0120E

133    You fathers, you mothers, are you ready to establish an altar in your house, and take that television out? Are you ready to take that deck of cards off the table? Them comic books that your children's reading, preparing their little mind for a blast that the Devil's going to give them. Are you ready to establish the old family altar again? Or do you just want to continue on the way you are? If you want to continue on, you're not in condition of coming yet; but I pray that you're like Samson, you see the price and you're ready, "Lord, let me die with them."

He knowed if God answered his prayer, what was going to cost. Many people, I've seen them right since I've been here, come up to the altar, and the Holy Spirit come to them, and they don't want to die. They want to stay alive in the world. You can't serve two gods at the same time. Are you ready to forsake everything to serve God? Listen at him cry, "Lord, only this once more."

SOULS.IN.PRISON.NOW_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-22  SUNDAY_  63-1110M

21-1    Of these very people that had rebelled, his heart went for them. See? And when a minister that's got the people on his heart... How could I ever feel justified to my--before God and to myself to ever hold anything back from a people that you love better than you love yourself? How could a man take a person into the church by a hand-join, or some sprinkle, or some false baptism or something, and let them lay under the--the influence of a lie, and know that Bible lays there, and say he loves the person?

Though I have to beg for my living, whatever it is, let me be honest with God and the people to tell them the truth. Never let me be a deceiver. How can I deceive who I love? Though I have to hurt them, yet I love them. That's the reason you spank your child is because you love him. Not because you don't like him, because you love him. If he's wrong, he will get killed if you don't correct him.

Now, so has the ministry been. As it was, so is it today. It has been preached and thoroughly a vindicated by the Word of God, that it couldn't be man, it has to be God. It has to be.

INFLUENCE_  NY.NY  V-18 N-9  THURSDAY_  63-1114

26    Now, this young fellow Uzziah was a king. But before he become king... He was a king during the reign of--of Isaiah the prophet. And he was a shepherd boy; he liked the outdoors. He was a great influence on--on Isaiah's life. Isaiah was a young fellow also, just a young prophet. And you read the story, if you want to take II Chronicles 26, it'll tell you how that at the age of sixteen, after the death of his righteous father, he became... They taken him and made him king over Israel. At the age of sixteen he begin to reign. And he had seen the influence of his parents; his mother was a godly woman, and his father was a godly man before him. And in that, it put the influence in the child to do that which was right.

INFLUENCE_  NY.NY  V-18 N-9  THURSDAY_  63-1114

27    I'll tell you. I think today, we have such a juvenile crime wave across the nation, but really, I think it started in the home. I--I think the parents begin to let go. And if the child had been raised up in a good, old fashion, godly home, I don't say it would be all over, certainly not, but it would certainly give that child the right kind of influence. I think, many times, that, homes that children has been brought up wrong, turned loose on the street, and just lived for themself while the mother stays in a barroom, or the--and the father, and so forth. They don't take care of this child. Another thing, they don't love it and give it the affections, to take it up. It's young. You've got to teach it to love and respect, and to read the Bible.

JESUS.AT.THE.DOOR_  NEW.HAVEN.CT  THURSDAY_  58-0529

E-38    Now, you say, "Brother Branham, you're really beating us women." All right. Here you men are. Any man that'll let his wife smoke cigarettes and wear clothes like that, it shows what he's made out of. He's not much man to him, a man that would do that. God give us old fashion, borned again, sainted, godly homes. Juvenile delinquency will be no more. It isn't juvenile delinquency; it's parent delinquency. They had the old wood shed and the big hickory limb laying over the door. That's discipline in our home.

All right. You say, "Now, Brother Branham, I... We shouldn't hear that kind of stuff." You should hear it. That's right. You don't let God in that private life. You won't let Him in that little cell of yours on the inside. "Now, don't you tell me what I'm to put on, what I'm to wear. Don't you tell me how I'm to act. And if I want to smoke a cigarette, that's up to me."

Go ahead. "If--if you love the world or the things of the world, the love of God is not even in you," the Scripture says.

Now, that's the little private door.

PRESUMING_  S.PINES.NC  SUNDAY_  62-0610M

E-59    Women put on little sexy clothes, and walk out on the street. Say, "Yes, I'm a Christian." They're presuming that's the thing they should do. Now, please, sister. I'm your brother. If your mother was the right kind of a woman, she'd tell you the same, or your daddy, or your husband.

And any man will let his wife get out on the street in them shorts and things like that, it shows how much man's in him. Let his wife set there and smoke a cigarette before him, and know that that thing... What's his children going to be?

Don't worry about communism whipping us. We've done whipped ourselves. It's our own rotten morals. And where did it start from? Because the Gospel was let down at the pulpit, where it began: sissified preachers, with not enough real baptizing of the Holy Spirit in their soul to stand and tell the Word of God. Don't spank the child for juvenile delinquency; spank the parents. It's parent delinquency. They let them get by with it.

CHOOSING.OF.A.BRIDE_  LA.CA  V-2 N-28  THURSDAY_  65-0429E

8-5    I think today there's so much cheating, just like in school. When--when the kids come by of a morning, many of the kids in the neighborhood that--that's friends of mine will come by and say, "Brother Branham, will you pray for us? We're having a--a test today. I've worked all last night and I don't seem like I can--can get it settled. Pray for me." I think that any school kid, if you would, if you... And the parents at the table of a morning, if you'd say, "Mother, John's got a test today; let's pray for him now," I think that it'd be the--all that you could ever do any other way, or looking over on somebody else's paper and cheating. I think that if you'd just come out and pray over the matter...

BE.NOT.AFRAID_  RICHMOND.VA  SATURDAY_  61-0311

E-31    It--it's too bad that mothers don't take their children today and tell them Bible stories. Hard to get a pastor that'll do it, let alone a mother. I think there's--there's five Gospels. You only know four of them in the Bible. But it's Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and mother. Mother gets them when they're young.

She ought to start them right there before they know anything about Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

And mothers would take more time to talk to their children about God and pray for them, we would have less juvenile delinquency. First of all, it's parent delinquency before we have juvenile delinquency. If mothers would take their place in the house, and a Bible, and pray for their children, and lead them to Christ; instead of going out to some stitch and sew party and play cards, and drink, and carry on, and smoke and... Well, I don't want to get started on that. But however... I... It--it's terrible the way we--it's doing.

Today I laughed at my poor little wife. We was up to Howard Johnson's to get us one of those three D's. You know that's, usually I don't eat very much during these kind of service. And we were up there. And she seen the--a lady up there that had this here manicure on, you know, ever what the stuff is.
