LUKE 24:1-8

1       Now upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain [others] with them.

LUKE 24:2

2    And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

LUKE 24:3

3    And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

LUKE 24:4

4    And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

LUKE 24:5

5    And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

LUKE 24:6

6    He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

LUKE 24:7

7    Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

LUKE 24:8

8    And they remembered his words

I THESSALONIANS 5:21

21    Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

QUEEN.OF.SHEBA_  BEAUMONT.TX  THURSDAY_  61-0119E

E-20    Here some time ago, speaking to a rabbi, where a man, John Rhyn, had been blind for twenty years, received his sight--begging on the streets in Fort Wayne.

This rabbi called me in and said, "By what authority did you open John's eyes?"

I said, "I never opened his eyes."

Said, "Well, how did you do it?"

I said, "In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God."

And he said, "Far be it from God having a son. How could a Spirit have a son?"

I said, "Rabbi," I said, "I'd like to ask you something. Would you believe the prophets? It wouldn't be hard for you to believe the prophets?"

He said, "Sure, I believe the prophets."

I said, "Who did Isaiah speak of in 9:6 when he said, 'Unto us a Child is born, a Son is given?'"

"Well," he said, "that was the Messiah."

I said, "What relationship is Messiah to God?"

He said, "He is God, the anointed One."

I said, "Tell me one place that Jesus ever failed to--but what He showed that He was the anointed Messiah, the Lord, your God?"

WHEN.THEIR.EYES.WERE.OPENED_  BEAUMONT.TX  THURSDAY_  64-0312

E-13    When they put a rag around His face, those drunken soldiers, and put a rag around His face, and took a stick and hit Him on the head, said, "Now, we understand that you're a prophet. If you are a prophet..." And they passed that stick one to the other and said, "Tell us who hit you. We'll believe it." See, looked like He--He had got caught in a trap.

And they thought, "Well, if they'd ever say anything to Him, He'd just smite them blind. He'd smite them dead, if they'd say anything."

See, that's not always God's purpose in doing things. See? When He was on the cross, and Caiaphas and the priests all said, "If thou be the Christ tell us plainly. Come down off the cross; we'll believe You." See, they just couldn't understand how God could ever go on to the cross and die. But that's the reason God was made flesh, so He could die.

UNCERTAIN.SOUND_  JEFF.IN  V-16 N-3  SUNDAY_  60-1218

395    Now, when He was on earth, He was the Pillar of Fire, led the children of Israel. Is that right? Then He was made flesh in the Son of God, in order to taste death for the whole human race, make an atonement. You believe that? Now, what is He today? The same Jesus. The same (what?) yesterday in the Fatherhood, same in the Sonship, same here in the form of the Holy Spirit, same Light.

Paul on his road to Damascus was struck down by a Light, and said, "Who are You, Lord?"

Said, "I'm Jesus." Um-huh.

That's right. What is it? Three times He took off His mask. Took off His mask from a Pillar of Fire and become what? A Man to take away sin. Then took off His mask as a Man, and went back again to be a Spirit called the Holy Ghost; the Ghost of a Man to come back and be on you, and in you, and the very same works... Mm. Do you see it, church? There's nothing uncertain about that. "The works that I do, shall you also. For I will be with you, even in you, until the end of the consummation, the end of the world, the end of the time, the end of all things. I'll be right with you, doing the same works." Now, there's no uncertainty about that.

PARADOX_  BAKERSFIELD.CA  V-22 N-5  THURSDAY_  64-0206B

200    The virgin birth was a paradox: a virgin conceive, bring forth a Child, God, made flesh. God changed His strand from--from Spirit to become Man. Man change... He changed His tent, His dwelling place, and tabernacle.

When Jesus was standing there, and upon the shores of Galilee, John looked up and he saw the Spirit of God, like a dove, descending, and a voice saying, "This is My beloved Son in Whom I'm pleased to dwell in." "In Whom I'm pleased to dwell," the same thing: verb before the adverb is all. See, see? "This is My beloved Son in Whom I am pleased to dwell in." God and man becoming One, uniting together for redemption. How God, that covered all space and time, could come down and bottle Himself into a Man, so He could taste death for all the human race, the Creator, dying, to save His creation.

Heavens and earth kissed each other, man and God became one (How can a man...) there, that He might dwell in man and fellowship. It's nothing but God condescending, trying to get to His man.

MIGHTY.GOD.UNVEILED_  PHIL.PA  V-3 N-22  MONDAY_  64-0629

8-4    And that's what God did. He--He changed Himself from being Jehovah God to become one of us, that He might suffer, He might taste death, He might know what the sting of death was, and take the penalty of death upon Himself. He laid aside His--His crown and His robe and became one of us. He washed feet with the--with the--the lowly. He dwelt in the tents with the poor. He slept in the--the woods and in the streets with those who were underprivileged. He become one of us that He might understand us better, and that we might understand Him better.

MASTERPIECE.THE_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-7  SUNDAY_  64-0705

79    The perfect image of the God-man, God En morphe had changed from Supernatural to the vision. And the vision was projected into the Image. And the Image was smitten so that the Supernatural could taste the feeling of death, God's perfect Masterpiece. He could not do it in Moses. He could not do it in the prophets. Isaiah who was sawed with saws till he was sawed to pieces... He could not do it in the prophets that were stoned. He could not do it, because He couldn't feel it. They was just a portion of Him. But in this perfect Masterpiece He was the Fullness of the Godhead bodily. He could not only project Moses, He could project His entire being into this Person and taste death for the whole human race. God's perfect Masterpiece, God, so inspired by seeing It, He become the Redeemer of all ages to speak for those in the backgrounds who had been before and now.

All promises was met in Him. He was the Perfection of the perfection. All types was fulfilled in Him: our Kinsman Redeemer in Ruth and Boaz; our Law-giver from Mount Sinai; our Prophet from the wilderness, as He come from the mountain, as He come from the wilderness, as He come from eternity and become man, the perfect Image.

PRODIGAL_  CLEVELAND.OH  SUNDAY_  50-0827A

E-33    Then I can see the old dad. He's just worrying, walking back-and-forth, up-and-down on the outside. From the barn up to the house, back-and-forth. I can hear mother go to him, "What's the matter, dad?"

"Oh, I don't know, mother." You know, how parents that are good, God saved people; they worry about their children. Now, I'm a father myself, and I got a little boy setting, listening at me right now. God knows I love him. I...?... one little...?... desire this afternoon, "Let me die ten thousand times to his one." That's right. Let him stay. The love of--that we have for our offspring. That's the reason God so loved the world, His offspring, that He came Himself to die so that we might be free; He faced the penalty Himself.

PERFECTION_  JEFF.IN  ER 35-54  FRIDAY_  57-0419

41    Remember, if He'd have said for the pope of Rome to take it, he could not have done it. If He'd have said for the Archbishop of Canterbury to do it, he could not have done it. If He would've called on the most holy reverend father or bishop of the world, he could not have done it. He'd been just as far rejected as Judas Iscariot was. He could not do it, because he was borned in sin, shaped in iniquity, come to the world speaking lies, and needed atonement for himself. Hallelujah.

But there came One from the portals of glory; none other, not a man, not a good man, neither a Jew nor a Gentile; He was nothing less than Almighty God hid in human flesh. He came Himself to offer His own Blood, for It did not come through sex. Sex had nothing to do with it. But He overshadowed a virgin and brought forth from a Blood cell that He created Himself the innocent One.

HAVING.CONFERENCES_  CHATAUQUA.OH  WEDNESDAY_  60-0608

E-23    I want to start tonight from the Eden conference. There was... When God made man in His image, and took from his side a rib and made a woman, made a helpmate to him, and placed them in the garden of Eden to be His beloved children... When His children be--got lost, that shocking news struck heaven: "Your children is lost!" God brushed aside everything there was in heaven. He wouldn't send an Angel to hunt them up; He wouldn't send a legion of Angels. God come Himself to hunt His own lost child, because there was a state of emergency.

What a beautiful picture for somebody that don't believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. How that God was manifested in the flesh in Jesus Christ to come to the earth, not trust it in the hands of an Angel or some church authority; but He came Himself, made flesh and dwelt among us, hunt out His lost child.

HAVING.CONFERENCES_  CHATAUQUA.OH  WEDNESDAY_  60-0608

E-24    And there, when (no doubt) that Michael might've stepped up and Gabriel. And when the message came into heaven, "Your children is lost; they have sinned and gone away," God didn't take Gabriel, and say, "Go down and hunt My children," He came Himself! It was a man-sized job, a God-sized job.

That's the reason I believe that in this day when we're living, when they try to make Jesus just a prophet, He was more than a prophet; He was God manifested in the flesh, the Divine Son of the living God. He was more than just a seer or a good man; He was God manifested in the flesh. God came down to redeem man Himself, just like He did in the garden of Eden. Oh, blessed be the Name of the Lord. That's love. God so loved the world, made Himself a body to dwell in, and tabernacle here with us to save us.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FELLOWSHIP_  KLAMATH.FALLS.OR  SATURDAY_  60-0709

E-28    And then as soon as this great fellowship that God had with His children in the garden of Eden... When an Angel or someone must have brought the message, and said, "Your children have fallen, and they've sinned."

Then I can see God come to the garden Himself. Did you notice? He never sent an Angel; He never sent some servant. He came Himself. And up-and-down the garden He went, screaming, "Adam, Adam, where art thou?"

Oh, what a type we could give there. In this world today when people with a social gospel is trying to make Jesus Christ just a prophet. He was more than a prophet; He was God manifested in the flesh. God never sent a prophet or an Angel. He created a body in the wombs of the virgin Mary, and He was the Son of God. God left His own regions of glory, and He crossed His own cast to come down and become human to dwell among us.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FELLOWSHIP_  KLAMATH.FALLS.OR  SATURDAY_  60-0709

E-29    I'd like to speak on that some night: "The Super Sign," how that He stretched His tent down here to dwell and be a--a human being, that we might know the nature of God. When we see Jesus, we see God in Him, see what God was and God's nature. He manifested; He displayed what God was, to redeem man back to Himself again.

And how that there in the beginning, when man was lost, God never sent an Angel; He came Himself and He sought. And He sought through the gardens, and under every bush, and behind every tree, until He found His lost children. Then when He found them, His fellowship was broken. They could not worship, come out before Him, because they had made themself a covering, but it wouldn't work.

THAT.DAY.ON.CALVARY_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-5  SUNDAY_  60-0925

10-6    God had required it. No man was worthy. No man was able. No man could do it. And God came Himself, and was made human, and lived a human life under human desires, and was crucified at Calvary and there, when Satan thought He wouldn't do it, He wouldn't go through it... He went to Gethsemane, and every temptation that any man ever stood; He went through it just like all men; but He paid the price; that's what blacked the earth out like an anesthetic for an operation.

When a doctor gives a man an anesthetic, he first knocks him out before he can do it. And when God gave the--the operation for the church, the world got an anesthetic. Nature had a convulsion.

CONFERENCE_  SHREVEPORT.LA  FRIDAY_  60-1125

E-19    It was an important conference, and in this day when theologians are preaching, and people are saying that Jesus was just a man, that Jesus was just a--an ordinary prophet, that He wasn't Divine... Why it would break the whole picture. He was more than a prophet. He was God came down in flesh to give conference and reconciliation. It wasn't just an ordinary man or a prophet. He was a God of the prophets.

And He came down in flesh and when... It sure, certainly shows that in the beginning the first conference that God had with man He came Himself. He didn't trust it to someone else. When God came down to redeem man, He never trusted to a prophet. He came Himself, for He was the only One that could do it.

SEED.SHALL.POSSESS.THE.GATE_  LONG.BEACH.CA  SUNDAY_  61-0212E

E-53    Let's take a little look at Him this morning, or tonight. It was a terrible morning that morning. We're back in a room. Let's just... I'm going to take this congregation--I want you to look at something. Let's go over to the window. I hear a howling mob. What's the matter? Raise up the curtain and look out. I hear something bumping, and coming down the street. What is it? It's a cross dragging around down the street, bumpety-bump, over them old cobblestones, going up to Golgotha. That's the seed of Abraham. There goes the second Adam.

In the garden of Eden when God had--to his holiness and true to his Word, when Eve and Adam had done evil, when God, Himself, running up and down through the garden, hollering, "Adam, Adam, where art thou? Where art thou, Adam?" If somebody wants to know where--who this man was, Jesus, who was He coming hunting His first lost son? Did God send an Angel? He come Hisself. He came Himself. That's how He come. You want to make...

FAITHFUL.ABRAHAM_  RICHMOND.VA  SUNDAY_  61-0312

E-88    Now, what's the next thing for the church then? If He... If that was the last sign He give Abraham before the fire fell and destroy the wickedness, then what will it be to His seed? Same thing. He did the same thing. What did He do? Called him, give him the covenant.

Who called you? Some people said, "I just sought God and sought God." You never did. No one else ever did. It's God seeking man, not man seeking God. No man seeks God. God seeks man, proved that in the garden of Eden, instead of confessing he was hiding. God was seeking him.

And another thing, did you notice, God never sent an Angel down to hunt up His lost child. He came Himself. That's the reason that Jesus was made, God flesh among us. God came Hisself to redeem His child. It was a man made--man size job, nobody could do it but Him. So He came to redeem His own child. That's the reason Jehovah was made flesh in His own Son to die to sin that was placed upon Him to redeem the sinner.

WAY.OF.A.TRUE.PROPHET_  PHOENIX.AZ  SATURDAY_  63-0119

E-97    And His Word... His Word is the prophet. He is... This is the Prophecy of the Jesus Christ. It's a revelation, God revealing Himself to us through His written Word. And He is the Word. And now, this is His Word. Nothing can be added to It or taken from It. But it's got to be lived and straightened just the way it is. We're daresn't to take anything from It or add anything to It. God still is God. He is roaring.

He said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." They were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, the immorals of... And, "As it was in the days of Lot..." He came Himself in a body of flesh and a-vindicated Himself being there to Abraham. Said, "So shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." Watch for these things. The evening lights are shining. Oh, if we had Amos on the scene today, let him roar forth, he'd blast down our systems and our traditions, and the Word of God would ride triumphant. Let us pray.

GOD.WHO.IS.RICH.IN.MERCY_  PHOENIX.AZ  V-19 N-2  TUESDAY_  65-0119

104    But then God rich in mercy He sent forth a Saviour, Jesus Christ. He sent forth Jesus to be both Saviour and Healer. For He said, "As Moses lifted up the brass serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up," for the same purpose. He, the Atonement, that's what we have claim upon, nothing but the atonement. What Jesus purchased by His Blood, that's what we have claims upon. And the Bible said, "He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquity; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we were healed." That's what we can claim, because that's what the atonement, that we stand for, ordered for us. God rich in mercy.

This was to be an eternal atonement, because He came Himself. God came Himself in the form of sinful flesh to make a--an eternal atonement; and suffered in the flesh, and made the atonement; and returned back in the form of the Holy Ghost, to confirm that atonement. Where no brass serpent or no trouble's water could do it; it all pointed to that perfect Atonement. God's rich in His mercy has did this.
