JAMES 2:14 - 26
14 ¶ What [doth it] profit, my brethren,
though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can
faith save him?
JAMES 2:15
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and
destitute of daily food,
JAMES 2:16
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in
peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things
which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?
JAMES 2:17
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is
dead, being alone.
JAMES 2:18
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I
have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and
I will shew thee my faith by my works.
JAMES 2:19
19 Thou believest
that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
JAMES 2:20
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith
without works is dead?
JAMES 2:21
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by
works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
JAMES 2:22
22 Seest thou how
faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith
made perfect?
JAMES 2:23
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him
for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
JAMES 2:24
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is
justified, and not by faith only.
JAMES 2:25
25 Likewise also was not Rahab
the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had
sent [them] out another way?
JAMES 2:26
26 For
as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

E-22 Now, the first thing... It looks like Paul
was speaking in Romans the 4th chapter, justifying Abraham by faith; and James
is justifying him by works. But it does not contradict.
Paul was
speaking of what God saw in Abraham, and James was
speaking what man saw in Abraham.
Paul was speaking of what God saw in Abraham, in Genesis 6, when
He told him that he was going to have this child by Sarah. And Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness. He believed the promise.
That's what God saw.
And then James speaking, was speaking of
what man saw in Genesis 22 where Abraham offered up Isaac.
See, what faith is...
What faith you have, that's what God sees. But what your works is, that's what
your neighbors see. See? Show me your works by your faith--without your faith,
and I'll show you my works by my faith. See?
Notice, I believe that
this audience here has faith. I believe that. But I believe you're afraid to
turn it loose on works. For I--I believe that if you
would just let your faith loose... See?
MY.COMMISSION_ LA.CA SATURDAY_

E-36 Now, all you with faith, and you're afraid to put it to work, it won't do any
good. Why not--why not just lay aside everything that's unlike faith. Believe
and act on what you believe; not what you--what you feel, or what the senses
bear witness of, but what your faith bears witness of. Is that right? You have
faith in God, and then act like you have faith in God.
Now, if Abraham says, "I got faith in God," but
was afraid to offer his son Isaac, then his faith was no good. Paul justified
Abraham by faith. Paul was talking about what God seen in Abraham. But James
justified him by works. James was talking about what man seen in Abraham. See?
God sees your faith; man sees your works.
And if you say you have faith and are afraid to step out
and make works out of it, then it don't do no good. It
will never do you any good. You've got to believe it. You've got to accept it,
and you've got to act like it, haven't you?

7-1 Now, we're all born a free moral
agent to make any decisions we wish to. God justly does that, because He must
put every man on the same basis, or He put the wrong man on--He
put the first man on the wrong basis that He put on free moral agent.
See, we're just exactly tonight like Adam and Eve. There's no
difference. Right
and wrong sets before either one of us. Life and death, we can make our choice. It's up to you to make it.
See? That's the way Adam and Eve did. You see, and--and they made the wrong
choice.
And now by that put the whole race--of human race under death, the
penalty of death, and then God came down in a form of man and took that death
and paid the penalty of death that the--His subjects that desired to--to be
free, could go free. Now, if He took us without the same way that He did Adam
and Eve, just pulled us through something, and said, "I'll save you
whether you want to be saved or not," then He put Adam and Eve on--on the
wrong basis. But each one of us has to choose this day between death and life.
We get to do it.

26-3 Now. Oh, the great revelation
now... Now, to restore back His kinship. To bring back... Now, He had to let them get lost; you
understand it? He had to let them sin, put them on
free mor--. He could not make them sin and remain God
and then punish them for something He made them do. But when He put man on
partnership with Him, then let man act as a free moral agent... See? The same thing that He's got you on today. See, see? You act
any way you want to; you're a free moral agent.
So therefore, if He put the first like that, He has to put the
second like that, He has to put everyone like that, or He acted wrong in the
first place. See? But everybody is on that same basis.
MINISTRY.EXPLAINED_ MINNEAPOLIS.MN TUESDAY_

E-48 What is sin? What is sin? Not drinking, not
smoking, not gambling, not rejecting church. Sin is unbelief. Is that right? He that believeth not is
condemned already. See? You're not... You do not... You're not
destroyed or separated from God because you're a sinner. You're separated to
God--from God because you refuse to walk with Him, to walk in His provided way.
You've got death and life before you. Just like Adam and
Eve, every man's a free moral agent. And the Tree of Life and tree of death is
before us all. You can take either one you wish to. It depends on what tree you
eat off of is what you are. That's right. And God is... God created you a free
moral agent to do whatever you want to do about it. He can't make you love Him,
and He don't force you to love Him.

102-2 {236} Now, let's turn over to Zechariah
4:10--4:10. Listen.
... who has despised the day of small things?...
(God in simplicity. See?)... for
they shall rejoice, and... see the plummet in the
hands of Zerubbabel with whose--with those seven;
these are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
The seven eyes--eyes mean seeing. Seeing means prophets, seers.
This Lamb had seven horns, and on each horn had an eye: seven eyes.
What is it? Christ and His Bride. Seven Church Ages, out of there
was seven prophets that went forth, seven seers, eyes. So the
last one must be a seer. All right.

E-18 Now, last evening, and the evening before,
we taken Abraham... Now, as a little background so we can go right straight to
the point, get the prayer line started. And now... And
tomorrow night, maybe, the Lord willing, we want to begin a new subject and run
it through Sunday. Notice.
Abraham... What was it now? God called Abraham because he was a
good man? No. God called Abraham by election. God elects people. And over
in--in the Book of Ephesians the 1st chapter and about the 5th verse, Paul states
the word "predestinated" us to the adoption of sons. Now, that doesn't mean that God just puts you in a little
channel and runs you through, and you can't help if you--how you go, when
you--you... Would be no reward. But God gives you the
free moral agency to make your choice, but God will keep His believer.

E-15 Now, a man's on the basis of
free moral--free moral agency. And he cannot... God could not take a man and
say, "Now, I'm going to make you do this. I'm going to make
you be--to be a lost man. I'm going to make you be a saved man." That
wouldn't be the nature of God. No. He's not willing that any should perish, but
He wants all to repent. But if He was... Being
infinite as He is, He knew from the beginning who would perish and who would
not perish, because He knew what would be. Now, He's not willing that it would
be that way; He want's all to come back to Him, but He knows who will and who
won't. So therefore, He could by foreknowledge, He can make everything work
right according to His plan. Oh, aren't you happy for a Father like that?

E-27 God doesn't send you to hell for being a
sinner. God sends you to hell, because you won't repent and take Christ as your
Saviour. You refused to take the right
road. You send yourself to torment. You send your own soul to its eternal
destination upon the free moral agency of your own convictions. God does not
send anyone to hell. He never did, and He never will. Men send
themselves to hell, because they refuse to--to accept the way of salvation. God
isn't... He's long-suffering. He doesn't want any to perish. Never
wanted it. But men rather walk in darkness than to walk in Light.

E-36 And as God in the beginning knowed that man would fall, therefore He could put him on
free moral agency, knowing because He could display His attributes to be a
Father, to be a Son, to be a Healer, to be a Saviour...
How could He save, 'less something lost? And in God was the attributes, before
there even was an angel or a molecule or anything, God was by Himself, alone; but He wasn't God, ' cause God is an object
of worship. There was nothing for Him to worship--nothing to worship Him. But
His attributes displayed something and made an angel. Then He was God. Then He made a man; give him free moral agency. He fell.
Then when he fell, He become a Saviour.
In the fall he took sickness, so He become a healer.
See? It's displaying God's attributes. See what I mean?
GOD'S.GIFTS.ALWAYS.FIND.PLACE_ JEFF.IN V-6 N-13
SUNDAY_ 63-1222
74 That's the reason that God does nothing
outside of a man. He always works through a man because He had to use a man. A
man is what He had to use to display His attributes of Saviour.
He had to make him in His image, make him something like Him, and put him on free moral agency and let him act any
way he wanted to. He could take his choice. And He knew that
man, by giving him this choice, would fall. So being that He had to do that, He
turns back around and makes the man a partner to Him, and does nothing except
He does it through a man.

231 "How is self-will? Why will you call
that self-will, Brother Branham?" Because it puts a man and woman back
again just like Adam and Eve at the garden of Eden, On
what? The two trees? Self-will, this one is death.
This one is Life, self-will. Immoral... Free moral agency... God placed the first man, Adam and
Eve, right here on free moral agency. He places you the same place. And the
only way that you can get this thing fixed in here is your own self-will.
Hallelujah. Your self-will. You have to will to do
God's will. You have to get rid of your own will to let God's will come in, for
this is the only channel that leads to the heart.
232 Oh, you can join church, you Baptists and
Presbyterians. And you Methodists and Pilgrim Holiness can come to
sanctification. But you have to will to do God's will, self-will, to let the
Holy Spirit come in here to bring forth: "These signs shall follow them
that believe; In My Name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new
tongues. They shall lay their hands on the sick, or take up deadly things, and
so forth. These signs shall follow them that--that has let their will become My will, and the works that I do shall they do also." I
hope you don't miss it. There's a will to do God's will. You see what I mean?
MESSIAH.THE_ SHREVEPORT.LA TUESDAY_

E-18 Now, for instances when a man gets saved,
he's just about like... The Light that comes into him is about like this little
white button on my shirt. That's when God comes into the inner part of a man. In the inner part of a man or... A man is made up in the
system of a tabernacle: in the outer courts, then holy place, and the holiest
of holies; the Shekinah glory on the inside, the
veil.
Now, on the outside gates of a man is his
five senses that enters to his body. On the inside, which is his soul, or
the... The--the soul is the nature of the spirit that's on the inside of his
heart; produces his soul, which makes the atmosphere around him. He has also
five entrances.
Then on the inside he has only one gate, one entrance to go into
the Shekinah glory, where God can enter into him and
take over in the control tower. And that way is through self-will. Whether you
will to or not, that's up to you. But that's the only avenue
that's open to the man that God can come into his heart, is by self-will. Puts
him right back like Adam and Eve on free moral agency again. You can choose
right or wrong, either one you want to.
KNOWETH.IT.NOT_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-10
SUNDAY_ 65-0815
17-5 Now, inside of that is a spirit, which you
become when you're borned in here and the breath of
life is breathed into you, that spirit is of a worldly nature, because it was
not given from God, but it was given, permitted by God. Now, you got that?
For every child that's borned in the
world is borned in sin, shaped in iniquity, come to
the world speaking lies. Is that right? So that person inside there is a sinner
to begin with. But now, it's got five inlets, and them five inlets... I don't
know whether I can call them right off now. First, I know is thought,
conscience, and love, choice... No conscience, love, reason, there's five
inlets to the spirit. You can't think with your body; you have to think with
your spirit. You can't have conscience in your body. It has no mental faculties
at all, your body doesn't. So you have to think with your spirit. You have to
reason. You can't reason with your physical being, 'cause reason doesn't see,
taste, feel, smell, or hear. Reason is what you can make in your mind.
If you're asleep or you're out; your body's lying there dead, but
your spirit can still reason; there's five senses that controls that inside
man. And that... Now, to the last man, which is the
soul. There's only one sense that controls that, and that is,
free moral agency, free will, to choose or to reject.

E-19 And now remember, He came to His own, not
the Gentiles. He came to His own, because they were looking for a Messiah. He
will only come to those who are looking for Him. He will only save those who are wanting to be saved. He will only heal those who are believing that they're going to be healed. He never
pushes Himself. You have to do that. You're on the basis of free
moral agency. You was placed on that in the garden of
Eden to make your choice. But He came to His own.
