07-0228 - Grace Pt 1- Samuel Dale
EPHESIANS 2:1
1 ¶ And you [hath he quickened], who were
dead in trespasses and sins;
EPHESIANS 2:2
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to
the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience:
EPHESIANS 2:3
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation
in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
EPHESIANS 2:4
4 ¶ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his
great love wherewith he loved us,
EPHESIANS 2:5
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
EPHESIANS 2:6
6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made
[us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:
EPHESIANS 2:7
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness
toward us through Christ Jesus.
EPHESIANS 2:8
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
EPHESIANS 2:9
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

E-22 Now, the first thing... It looks like Paul
was speaking in Romans the 4th chapter,
justifying Abraham by faith; and James is justifying him by works. But it does
not contradict. Paul was speaking of what God saw in Abraham,
and James was speaking what man saw in Abraham.
Paul was speaking of what God saw in Abraham, in Genesis 6, when
He told him that he was going to have this child by Sarah. And Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness. He believed the promise.
That's what God saw.
And then James speaking, was speaking of
what man saw in Genesis 22 where Abraham offered up Isaac.
See, what faith is... What faith you have, that's what
God sees. But what your works is, that's what your neighbors see. See? Show me
your works by your faith--without your faith, and I'll show you my works by my
faith. See?
Notice, I believe that this audience here has faith. I believe
that. But I believe you're afraid to turn it loose on works. For I--I believe that if you would just let your faith loose...
See?

E-36 Now, all you with faith, and you're afraid to put it to work, it won't do any
good. Why not--why not just lay aside everything that's unlike faith. Believe
and act on what you believe; not what you--what you feel, or what the senses
bear witness of, but what your faith bears witness of. Is that right? You have
faith in God, and then act like you have faith in God.
Now, if Abraham says, "I got faith in God," but
was afraid to offer his son Isaac, then his faith was no good. Paul justified
Abraham by faith. Paul was talking about what God seen in Abraham. But James
justified him by works. James was talking about what man seen in Abraham. See?
God sees your faith; man sees your works.
And if you say you have faith and are afraid to step out
and make works out of it, then it don't do no good. It
will never do you any good. You've got to believe it. You've got to accept it,
and you've got to act like it, haven't you?
AT.THY.WORD_ CONNERSVILLE.IN MONDAY_

E-17 Now, see, now Paul was justifying Abraham
by faith. James justified him by works. Paul said Abraham was justified, Romans
4, by faith. And so James comes over and says that he was justified by works.
Now, both of them, one confirmed the other. Now, Paul was speaking what God
saw: his faith. James is speaking what man saw: his works. And if you say,
"I got faith in God," and afraid to put your faith to work, then it
won't do you no good. You've got to launch out.
That's what's the matter with the peoples today of this
world, many of them has faith, but they're afraid to launch out with it. You're
just afraid to venture a little bit. Just to say, "Well, I can. I can do
all things with Christ Who strengthens me." Amen.
Look at Him, said, "Launch out into the deep, and let down
for the draught."

E-22 "Those who He has called,
He hath already justified: those who He had justified, He had already
glorified." That's right. See? There's where we get grace and works mixed
up. Here's the whole thing in the Arminian and
Calvinistic belief. Grace is what God does for you; works is what you do for
God. See? It's grace that brings you to God; it's the works that--that you do
for God. See?
Now, as Abraham was justified by faith, because he believed in
God. Paul justified him by faith; James turns over and justifies him by works.
But Paul was speaking what God saw, and James was speaking what man saw. If you say you are a believer, and then act contrary to
what you say, then you're not a believer. See? If you tell God, "Yes, I now solemnly believe."
Brother, you can't do nothing but act the same way you
believe. That's right. You say, "Lord, my hand's
crippled, but something in my heart tells me that You're the Lord that's healed
me. Oh, I believe it, God, with all my heart." You can't
do nothing but watch that hand move a few inches every day. See, that's it. You
can't do nothing else. See? And God's obligated to
that Word to watch over It.

E-15 Now (See?) James justified Abraham
by his works. Paul justified Abraham by his faith. What do we say then between
the two? Abraham was speaking on what--I mean, Paul was speaking on what God
saw in Abraham. And James was speaking on what people saw in Abraham. See? Now
see? Therefore, God knowed that
before the baby come, that Abraham had faith. And Abraham
proved it to God by acting like he--that the baby was
going to come when he was sterile. He had no children, and his wife's womb was
dead, and he was sterile. But yet he knowed in there
somewhere was the baby. You see, he kept drinking the
promise, leaning on God's great El Shaddai, the
breast, leaning there, drinking, knowing that God would give it to him; knowed that it was a promise, that He had to do it. And
we're the children of Abraham. So let's lean onto His promise and hold there,
knowing that God will do it. He said so.

215-303 What is...
Grace is what God did for me; works is what I do for God. Now, they'll make a doctrine out of it; they think that
works is what wins your merits. If it is, it isn't a free gift. Grace is what
God did for you; by grace you're saved. And works is what you do in
appreciation of the grace that He showed to you. And if you love Him, you like
to do the works of the Lord, certainly, because then, you--you love Him.
Accepting Meda Broy
as my wife was what love done for her. What she does in appreciation, she's a
nice woman, stays home, takes care of the children, and lives a good true life.
That's not because we're not married, we are married. But she does that in
appreciations. If she run downtown every day, and took in every ten-cent store,
and up and down the streets, and never washed the dishes or anything else, we
are still married. Absolutely. When I took my vow, that settles it. She's my wife as long as there's life
in us; she's my wife. That's her vow. But what appreciation she does for that,
she stays home and takes care of the children, and tries to be a real wife.

84 And the whole armor of God is
faith, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness,
patience. The whole armor of the believer is faith. We believe God by faith,
because God said so. Then what is it? Abraham was justified
by Paul by faith, but by James by works. Abraham was talking what God saw, and James was talking what man saw. "Show me your
faith by your works," "without your works," and so forth. See?
Then if you don't have works with your faith, it shows
you haven't got faith; you're just talking from your mouth. But if you really
got faith, you believe it and act like it. That's right. Put it in action.

FRIDAY_ 65-1126
86 Now, the two men that were talking on
faith: Paul justified Abraham by what God saw in Abraham; but James justified
Abraham by what man saw in--in Abraham.
See, now, James said, "He's justified by his works."
Paul said, "He's justified by faith."
But, see, Abraham believed God; that's what God saw in him; he
believed It. But then when he went to acting as though
it was already done, that's what man saw in him.
And that's the same as it is to us, because our works
express what faith we have. But if we're afraid to act on what we believe, then
we do not believe it. See, you've got to believe it.
176-6 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.5
"I know thy works." These are the identical words
uttered to each of the seven messengers relative to the people of God in each
age. As they are spoken to the two vines (true and false) they will bring joy
and gladness to the hearts of one group, but they ought to strike terror in the
hearts of the other. For though we are saved by
grace, apart from works, true salvation will bring forth works, or deeds that
will please God. I John 3:7, "Little children, let no man deceive you; he
that DOETH (worketh) righteousness is righteous, even
as He is righteous." If this verse means anything at all, it means that
what a man DOES he IS. James 3:11, "Doth a fountain send
forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?" Romans 6:2, "How
shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein?" Matthew 12:33-35
"Either make the tree good and his fruit good; or else make the tree
corrupt and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation
of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for
out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth
forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth
forth evil things." Now if a man is born of the Word (Being born again,
not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever. I
Peter 1:23) he will produce the Word. The fruit or works of his life will be a
product of the kind of seed or life that is in him. His works,
therefore will be Scriptural. Oh, what an indictment this truth is going to be
against the Pergamean Age. There stands that
Matchless One, and in His hand the sharp sword with the two edges, the Word of
God. And that Word will judge us in the last day. In fact the Word is judging
even now, for it is the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It
cuts asunder the carnal from the spiritual. It makes us living epistles read
and known of all men to the glory of God.

SUNDAY_ 57-0922
346-336 I have no holiness to present to Him. But
I'm trusting in His, oh, His grace, and I have it in my heart. I've unmerited it, nothing I could do to deserve it,
but by grace He called me and invited me to come. And I look to Him, and He
took the desire away from me. I make thousands of mistakes even each month in
each year. Certainly, I do. But when I see I'm wrong, I say, "God, I
didn't mean to do it. You know my heart. I didn't mean to do that. I was
trapped into that. I didn't mean to do it. You forgive me, Lord."
If I done wrong to my brother, I say, "Brother, forgive me; I
didn't mean to do that." Certainly, God knows my heart.
Oh, there you are. There's the Blood sacrifice. There's the power
of the Gospel, that holy church moving on. Not because something you done, it's
something you had nothing to do with. There's the atonement.

58 I don't live true to my wife
because I think she'd divorce me. I live true to my wife because I love her.
It's a legal position that we have taken, that we love one another. First,
before it could be there, it had to be a love. I love her. Although I believe
if I done something wrong, she'd forgive me; still I wouldn't do it anyhow. I
love her.

39-3 Now, notice, you're not only that, but
you're going to the wedding in the sky, and you are wearing the wedding band of
predestinated unmerited grace, a wedding band of grace, unmerited of
your own. God did it Himself. He knew you before the foundation of the world,
so He slipped the wedding band on you there: put your name on the Book. What a
Thanksgiving. Hallelujah. Praise our God.

E-48 What is sin? What is sin? Not drinking, not
smoking, not gambling, not rejecting church. Sin is
unbelief. Is that right? He that believeth not is condemned already. See?
You're not... You do not... You're not destroyed or separated from God because
you're a sinner. You're separated to God--from God because you refuse to walk
with Him, to walk in His provided way.
You've got death and life before you. Just like Adam and
Eve, every man's a free moral agent. And the Tree of Life and tree of death is
before us all. You can take either one you wish to. It depends on what tree you
eat off of is what you are. That's right. And God is... God created you a free
moral agent to do whatever you want to do about it. He can't make you love Him,
and He don't force you to love Him.
PAUL.A.PRISONER.OF.CHRIST_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-8
WEDNESDAY_ 63-0717
7-1 Now, we're all born a free moral agent to
make any decisions we wish to. God justly does that, because He must put every
man on the same basis, or He put the wrong man on--He put the first man on the
wrong basis that He put on free moral agent.
See, we're just exactly tonight like Adam and Eve.
There's no difference. Right and wrong sets before either one
of us. Life and death, we can make our choice. It's up to you to make
it. See? That's the way Adam and Eve did. You see, and--and they made the wrong
choice.
And now by that put the whole race--of human race under death, the
penalty of death, and then God came down in a form of man and took that death
and paid the penalty of death that the--His subjects that desired to--to be
free, could go free. Now, if He took us without the same way that He did Adam
and Eve, just pulled us through something, and said, "I'll save you
whether you want to be saved or not," then He put Adam and Eve on--on the
wrong basis. But each one of us has to choose this day between death and life.
We get to do it.

26-3 Now. Oh, the great revelation now... Now, to restore back His kinship. To bring
back... Now, He had to let them get lost; you understand it? He had to
let them sin, put them on free mor--.
He could not make them sin and remain God and then punish them for something He
made them do. But when He put man on partnership with Him, then let man act as
a free moral agent... See? The
same thing that He's got you on today. See, see? You act any way you
want to; you're a free moral agent.
So therefore, if He put the first like that, He has to put the
second like that, He has to put everyone like that, or He acted wrong in the
first place. See? But everybody is on that same
basis.
