06-1112pm - Faith Pt 8 (The Substance) - Samuel Dale
HEBREWS 11:1
1 ¶ Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
HEBREWS 11:2
2 For by it the elders obtained a good
report.
HEBREWS 11:3
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds
were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of
things which do appear.
HEBREWS 11:4
4 ¶ By faith Abel offered unto God a more
excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was
righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
HEBREWS 11:5
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he
should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for
before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
HEBREWS 11:6
6 But without faith [it is] impossible to
please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.

E-6 Now, some thinks that it's a mental conception of the Word,
but that is not right. Faith is a substance. Faith is not a myth. Say... Faith
is a substance of things hoped for; the evidence... To have an
evidence, it must be a substance. So it is not just something that you
imagine in your mind; it's something that absolutely, you have. It's something
that you possess in your own being. And what is it? It's the evidence of things
that you have hoped for. It's the evidence of things you do not have as yet,
but you have the authority of God to say that you have it. It's an evidence, something you have in your heart.

56 Turn to Genesis 22 now. I'm going to read
some for the lesson before prayer service. All right, we're going to start
along about the... Let's just talk of it a little bit.
I'll tell you what we'll do. I want you to get in Romans 4 also.
I'm going to teach a little about faith. That's what we all need a whole lot
of, isn't it? Faith is not a--is not an
evidence; only it's a substance... Faith itself is a substance and an
evidence of things that the senses of the body won't declare.
And I thought, maybe, in teaching this, would--would spur your faith up (See?),
get it to a level to where that God can move into you and bless you.

E-10 And when I have faith that God is going to
keep His Word, though I'm not healed at the present time, I know God has plenty
of healing power, and I've got the faith to bring it to me. I'm just as happy
with the faith that says, "You're going to get well." as you would be
if you were sound and well at that minute. That makes no difference, because
you've already possessed it. Faith is a substance, not a make
belief. But you're holding, not in your hand, but in the possession of your
heart, you have the purchase power of your healing.
UNCERTAIN.SOUND_ CHICAGO.IL SATURDAY_

E-8 Now, "If the trumpet gives an
uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle?" Now, that is quite
a statement: "The Uncertain Sound."
Now, if you're not certain, then you can't have faith. If there's
no certainty, then you cannot have any faith. Because faith
is something that's certain. You know it. It's the--the... "Faith
is the substance of things that's hoped for, the evidence of things that's not
seen." It's not a myth. It's just not an imagination. And it's not hope,
but it's faith.
And faith is a substance. It's something that God has
given you. And then you do not see it, but you, yet you've--you've just as
sure got it, as if you had it right in your hands. And faith is what purchases
the product that you're hoping for.

114 And so when a man lives by faith and walks
by faith, I mean substance faith, he is
isolated from the entire world and becomes a new creature in Christ. There, now
you're getting into Bride material. You see, see? You're getting into rapturing condition now. That means for each one of us, not
just the pastor, deacons, trustees; that means for the laity, every individual
walks in a world with God alone. You're baptized into this Kingdom, and there's
nobody in there but you and God. See? He gives the orders, and you pack them
out. Whatever He says, there's not a shadow of doubt nowhere; you walk right
on. If the Lord says this, there's nobody in the world can talk you out of it;
you go right on just the same. Now, you're coming into perfect faith, perfect
perfection that cannot fail. That faith never fails.
Yes, He was a mystic to them with His perfect faith; and so is it
now with those who have perfect faith are a mystic to
others.
