15 And the evil spirit answered

E-73 Why brother, it's by faith
you're saved. Is that right? But listen. In accepting of your faith, God
confirms your faith by the baptism of the Holy Ghost. If you say you believe,
and you don't get the baptism of the Holy Ghost, then you do not, it--it--your
faith isn't accepted in the sight of God. You've got a mental faith and in
the stead of a heart faith. That's right.
When you truly believe God, God's under obligation to
pour the Holy Ghost on you. And then if He does pour the Holy Ghost on you... You say, "Well,
I've got the Holy Ghost too." Well, if you do, you're bound to believe in
the supernatural signs and wonders, because you're added to it. That's the
faith.

E-17 Now, if you can look and live when
you see the--hear the Gospel preached, on the basis of the Word, that settles
it. You're healed right there. But you cannot be healed by
mental faith. You've got to be healed by a real living faith from your heart.
When... No matter how much you're worked up up here, and no matter how much you
disbelieve up here, if something down here tells you it's over, it's over;
that's all. That settles it. There's no more fear at all. Nobody
could tell you any different. You don't know why you believe it. It's not
reason; it is faith. You just believe it and that's the way it takes place. You
believe it and go on, no matter what you're sense knowledge would say, be all
out of reason...
It was out of reason for Abraham and Sarah to have the baby, but
they believed it anyhow. It's all out of reason for a man to stay alive in the
belly of a whale, but he did anyhow. It's all out of reason for a man to raise
one from the dead, but He did it anyhow. See? Yes, it is true. It's not reason,
it's faith.

E-25 I've seen people come to the
platform. I'd say, "Do you believe?"
"Oh, I've got all faith, Brother Branham."
Now, I don't mean to be belittling them. I respect that.
But they're supposed to be up here, and here they are way down here. But do you
know what it is? It's hope instead of faith. Faith does the job right now. Hope
hopes for it, but faith is the product. Faith really does it. See, we have
lots of hope, but not much faith. So we want to change from hope today to
positive faith. And there's only one way we can get positive faith: that's by
positive thinking of positive things.

meeting. You can feel it. When the anointing speaks, you can feel that cold
indifference. And you know that it's wrong. You know they're doubting. But when
it's, you feel that warm welcome, then it flows smoothly. But then when you...
A person is standing there. What is it? I go up on my toes now,
like the parable. What... Here's a woman. Oh, if one thing. Lord, if You'll
just tell her like You did the woman at the well, one thing that's wrong with
her, maybe that'll help. Here goes up. She's standing. I say, "Are you
believing?"
"Oh, praise God, Brother Branham. I've got all faith."
Yeah. I know it. If you would, you wouldn't be up here. You see? But it's a... Here you are, you're supposed to be up here. And here you
are down here because you got hope instead of faith. Faith's positive. See?
Faith is the substance of things hoped for (See?), the evidence of things not
seen.

E-17 And that's what happens here
at the platform when I have healing services. Hundreds of people that way, they
come to the platform, "Oh, Brother Branham, I got
all faith." If it was ink it wouldn't dot an "i." See, you got
hope instead of faith. Faith is positive. There's no, nothing can move it; it's
positive. No matter how sick you got, how everything went, noth... Now, if
you're trying to bluff it, it won't take bluffing. The devil's
not... He's a bluff himself, and he knows how to run a bluff. But when you got
the goods, it don't take loud hollering, don't take stomping and screaming; it
takes faith. He will recognize it. Don't worry, just say the word.
Look at the disciples down there, what they all were doing over
this child, probably was trying to shake it and everything else. But Jesus
said, "Come out of it." That settled it. That devil recognized that
was faith. See? Not quantity, it's quality. See? Bodily exercise profit little.
You don't have to run around over the floor. Which I don't blame anybody from
getting healed from running, screaming, shouting. You say, "You believe in
shouting, Brother Branham?" Absolutely, yes sir. Don't think that. I'm one
Baptist that believes in shouting. And I believe...

E-13 Oh, it seems to be such a
hard thing for people to comprehend what faith is. Now, many people think that
faith is just something like a--a rub, or touch a totem pole, or a certain
mental emotion. That isn't faith. Many times that's excitement. Sometimes it's
hope. I've heard many people say, "Oh, I've got all
faith," but them then standing in a prayer line. If they had that type of
faith, they would not be--had be in the prayer line. See, it's just the--an
emotional faith.

41 Now, faith is the substance,
and by it, we understand all of those things are done. It's not a--it's not a
imagination; it is a substance, especially perfect faith. That's what I'm
talking on tonight, getting to perfect faith. It is not an imagination.
Now, others have... People come, say, "Oh, I got
all faith; oh, I sure have." Well, what are you standing here for then?
See? See? See, your--your very actions prove that you haven't got what you're
talking about. See? If you had faith, then what you stand in the prayer line
for? See? What do you do these things for?
See, if you had perfect faith, you'd look right straight to God,
and believe it, and walk away. You--you would--you would have no need of coming into a prayer line.
You'd have no need of these things, because your faith has done made it so.
See? What would be the use for me saying, "I got to put a shirt on"?
I got a shirt on.
"How do you know you got a shirt on?"
"Well, I see it, feel it, and I know it's there." Well,
that's just how real that when perfect faith takes a hold. There's no... You
don't need no more. It's already done; you know it.
"How do you know it?"
"Faith tells me so." That's it. See? Do you get it now,
what I mean? That's perfect faith.

68 But because of the
selfishness got among it, the objectives was wrong, signing up a bunch of stuff
"it would be this way," when they promised they would do it for the
Kingdom of God, but looked like it's for themselves. See?
And it won't work; no selfish thing will work. Your motives and
objectives has to be exactly, perfectly right, then you have faith there.
"If our hearts condemn us not, then we have confidence." See, see?
We've got to have confidence. "I want this to the honor and glory of
God." Then faith has a--a channel to move into; if it
doesn't, then you've got mental, intellectual faith, and not genuine faith from
God. That intellectual faith will get you nowhere. Might get you emotional, but
it won't get you the healing that you're looking for.

believe, all your heart? Very well.
Now, the Holy Spirit left the altar. Setting there praying for
that lung trouble, wasn't you, lady? You touched Him. Having trouble in your
lungs, stand up on your feet just a minute, the lady right here. All right.
Jesus Christ makes you well, sister. Your faith touched Him. He's the High
Priest that can be touched by the feelings of your infirmities. Amen.
Just pray. Challenge your faith. Believe it with all your heart.
Jesus said, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible." You
believe He's raised from the dead now? Now, have faith. Just say, "Lord,
have mercy on me. Maybe my faith has been mental
faith; maybe it's been emotional; but now let me calm down. Let me believe You,
Lord. Let me believe You."
