“The
Revelation of One God Pt.5” (Our Profession)
HEBREWS 3:1
1 ¶ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of
the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,
Christ Jesus;
HEBREWS 3:2
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him,
as also Moses [was faithful] in all his house.
HEBREWS 3:3
3 For this [man] was counted worthy of more
glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the
house hath more honour than the house.
HEBREWS 3:4
4 For every house is
builded by some [man]; but he that built all things
[is] God.
HEBREWS 3:5
5 And Moses verily [was] faithful in all his
house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken
after;
HEBREWS 3:6
6
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if
we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
HEBREWS 7:23
23 And they truly were many priests, because
they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
HEBREWS 7:24
24 But this [man], because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
HEBREWS 7:25
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to
the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he
ever liveth to make intercession for them.

And we must remember that nothing can be done without faith, and it
first has to be confessed. For He is the--He is the Author of faith; we know
that, and that nothing can be done without faith. And without faith it's
impossible to please God.
And now,
He is the High Priest of our confession. Now, the--the King James here in the
Book of Hebrews puts it a "profession." To
"profess" and "confess" is the same thing, profess and
confess. "Confess" means "to say the same thing": "By
His stripes I am healed," (See?), "Now, by His Life I am saved."
And now, then
first we've got to confess it; and He sets as a Mediator, and the only Mediator
between God and man, and He sets there to make intercessions upon what we
confess that He has done. What a--what a sound, solid thing that is.

And if Jonah, under those conditions, could look towards a temple that
was built by a man that later backslid, and have faith in his prayer and get
the results that he did, under the condition, how much more can we, tonight,
look away from our conditions to the temple of God where Jesus sets at the
right hand of His Majesty with His own Blood, to make intercessions upon our
confessions. Then, don't look at your hand. Don't feel your sickness. Look at Who made the promise, at the right-hand of the Majesty on
high to make intercession upon your confession.
Then make it and stand true to it.

For God can only save you as you testify. He can only heal you as you
testify. He is setting at the right hand of the Father tonight to make intercession upon your profession. It
isn't how loud you cry, how hard you beat the altar, how many good deeds you
do; it's your faith that saves you.
And if
you'll confess it with your lips and coming from your heart, He goes to work as
a High Priest setting at the right hand of the Father to make intercessions
upon your confession. Hebrews 3:1, He cannot do one
thing for you until first you believe it and accept and confess it to be so.
And the people today, they'll go out, say, "Well, I
felt better last night, but today I'm so bad I just can't
hardly stand it." That's just exactly when you lose your confession
and drop right down. No matter who you are, how saintly, how godly you are,
you're a minister, clergyman, or you're a deacon, or whatever you are, or you
been a Christian for fifty years, if you go out of here tomorrow and lose faith
that you're a Christian and start telling people you're not a Christian
anymore, you're backslid. You're gone.

E-55 Now, everyone reverent. And I
believe that it got a little cool in here; I seen the women putting their coats
on, maybe if they'd shut the fans off, it might be a little better. And the
custodian will, please.
And then,
notice, friend. I want to ask you something while they're lining the people up.
Now, if Jesus of Nazareth stood here tonight wearing this suit that I have on,
that He gave me several years ago in Sweden, if--if He stood here wearing this
suit, and for instance this girl here, or somebody along the line there, come
up here to Him and said, "Lord, will You heal me?" What do think
Jesus would say to them?
He'd say,
"I can't. I have already done it." When Jesus died at
What if
the sinner awhile ago would say, "Now, Lord, will You
save me?" What if the sinner came up here to the platform and say and
Jesus was standing here. Say, "Jesus will You
save me?"
He'd say,
"Well, son, I saved you nineteen hundred years ago. Do you accept it
now?"
If he'd say, "Well, I want You to do it now."
He'd say,
"I have already done it."
So if any
person's ever tell you that they can save you or heal you, it's an error,
'cause no one can do what's already been done. See? Jesus died to save sinners
and heal sick people. That's what... And He's setting tonight at the right hand
of God as a High Priest Who can be touched through the feeling of our
infirmities. Is that right? Making what? Intercessions
upon our confession. See? He cannot do one thing for
you until first you believe in your heart that He has done it, and then say
that He's done it. And the minute that you believe it and say it, then before
God, He says it's right. He's there to make intercession upon your confession.
E-56
Now, you could come to the altar here and
scream, and cry, and walk up and down, the floor and scream, "God, save me
a sinner." That wouldn't do one speck of good. You could do that tonight,
all night, all day tomorrow, and the next night, beat on the floor, anything
you want to do. You're just giving vent to your feeling. But you can never be
saved until you first believe it and then confess it. For He said, "If you
confess Me before men, I'll confess you before the
Father and the holy Angels." Is that right? The minute you
do... And if you're just doing it from your head, well, it doesn't matter. If
you're doing it from your heart, it's settled right there. Has
to be. New, regenerated person right then... "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me has (right now) Everlasting Life and shall never perish, but's pass from death to Life," just because you
believe. It's all.
The same
thing by Divine healing. You don't have to be up here
on the platform. You just believe right where you're setting. Look up to Jesus,
and say, "I know believe it and accept it. And You're
my Healer right now."
At
that very minute, He confesses that same thing before Almighty God, saying,
"By My stripes I recognize him healed." See? And you're just as sure
to get well, as--as He's God. He has to. God just can't say something and take
it back; He's got to keep His Word. I can say something and take it back; you
can too, but He can't. He's God, once spoken, that settles it. All right.

E-9 Now, in His Presence... See? Hebrews 3:1 said, "He's the High Priest of our
profession." Profess and confess is the same words. Profess anything or
confess anything, "confess" means "to say the same thing."
If God said, "By His stripes we're healed," then I say,
"By His stripes I was healed." He said, "He bore my sins,"
I say, "He bore my sins." I don't have them anymore; He bore them. He
said He healed me when He died for me at
And now,
no matter how I feel, how that they--they--it looks...
If I'd say, "Well now, look. You say you're
healed and look right, look at your body." That don't
have a thing to do with it, not one thing. God's done said so. It ain't what I can see; it's what I believe.

It is only the love of our Father, that loves
us so much that He sends His Word. He sends His ministers to preach the Word.
Then He sends gifts into the church with His arms spread out, trying to get you
to believe it. He wants to heal you tonight, a thousand times more than you
want to be healed. But you're afraid. You--you go by how you feel, because
you--you've regarded that; you've lived by your feelings. That's... Your whole
life has been wrapped in that. But you must get away from
that, and act on God's Word, not what you feel, not what you see, what God
said, and act on that. Make a confession of that. "Confess" means
"to say the same thing." And He's at the right hand of the Father
with His Own Blood to make intercessions on your confession.
Now, He cannot do anything for you, until first you accept
it and confess it; and then He can act on it. For He's the High Priest of what
you confess that He is to you. Do you get what I mean?

We could come to the altar, and pray all night, go back
and fast for ten days, and come back and pray again... We might cry; I believe
in all that. That's all all right. But we might do
all that and still not be saved, until we in our heart can believe that Christ
died in our stead, and reckon ourselves as sinners, and accept His
righteousness. When we do that and accept Him, He stands before the Father
then, to make good that confession. That's right. And the same thing by His
stripes, we were healed.
And what does "confess" mean? "Confess" means
"say the same thing." Don't say nothing contrary, but say what He
said. Then we'll be Abraham's children, which could call those things that were
not as though they were, when God had said something.

And He now is a High Priest, Hebrews 3, setting at the right hand of God
Almighty in heaven, making intercessions upon our confession.
Now,
the word used there in the--in the Book of Hebrews is used in the King James
Version, is used "profess," but "profess" and
"confess" is the same thing. You profess something or confess it, you
professed that you believe that He has... "He was wounded for your transgressions with
His stripes you were healed." So He's a High Priest to make intercession
upon our confession. And He cannot do nothing for us
until first we accept it and confess it.
Now, we could get down at the altar and pray till we were--till
we laid on our faces and died. Until we believe and
accept His pardoning grace, we're still lost. No matter how loud we could
scream, or how long we could stay, or how much we could do without food, until
in our heart--the revelation God gives us that Jesus Christ died to save us,
and we accept it as our own personal property. It's something Christ did for
me, did for you, and to whosoever will believe it. Then you're saved because
you have believed it, and you're healed the same way.
Many times people say, "I--I like to feel if I'm
healed."
Jesus never did say, "Did you feel it?" He said,
"Did you believe it?" That's it. "Do you believe it?"
Feeling has nothing to do into it; it's your faith. If I did the way I felt, I'd
be in bad shape a lot of times. Is that right, brethren? I guess we all would.
But it's not how I feel; it's what I believe that He has done. Not my feelings,
it's my faith in what a finished work at

E-9 Christ died to save every lost person, no
matter what creed has done for them. That's always tried to be my approach
to--to the people: is to be a public servant of Christ to whosoever will
(See?), just--just to whoever it may be. I'm here to
serve. He's never drawed a line for anybody for me to
pray for. He never said, "Now, these are Methodists; don't pray for them.
These are Catholic; don't pray for them." He just said, "Pray for the
sick children." So that's--that's all. So they're--they're... And I just
want to... That's the way I do it.
That's
the reason I don't take sides with nobody. I just believe the Word and just
stay right with the Word. And any level thinker will know that that Word is
right. It's just got to be right. See? And I don't put any interpretation to
it. I try to just read it the way it reads, then say
the same thing.
That's confessing. "Confess" means the same thing, like,
"He's the High Priest of our..." Well, King James puts it
"profession." But "profess" and "confess" is the
same thing. See? So then "to confess," that means "to say the
same thing He did." "By His stripes I am healed." I'm
confessing. See? I am confessing the same thing that He said. See? I'm making a
confession. That's what it is in court. You have to say the same thing. Now, I
am... To my great High Priest, for He sits at the right hand
of the Majesty to make intercessions upon my confession.

Somebody says, "How does Divine healing... Is it... Does it last
all the time?" It lasts just as long as
faith lasts. And salvation lasts the same way, just as long as faith lasts.
When you feel that you're not saved anymore, you're not saved. For it's by
faith are you saved through grace. Is that right?
When you
come to the altar, what do you do? You confess your sins and ask God to forgive
you. And then, in your heart... Now get it! In your
heart, you have to believe that He has forgiven you. Is that right? You have to
believe that.
Then
you walk away from the platform. And then you have to confess it first, that
you are saved. You can't just keep it under a bushel; you'll lose it right now.
You've got to confess it and tell everyone that you're glad. Now, what if you
walk outside and somebody says, "There's nothing to it; you just got
excited at the altar."

One night while speaking, and they seen a miracle performed by God, just
they accept it right there, and there wasn't a cot, wheelchair, nor nothing but
what was emptied, and they walked out:
Now, here's what it is, friends. It's... See, if you get It, you're a Christian because you believe that you're a
Christian. And it's all settled because He's a High Priest.
Now, notice. He's the High Priest of your confession. Get
what I mean? What you confess you are, that's what you
are. Any man will never live any farther, or any higher, than what he believes
he's a living.
You take
a man that's talking about drinking all the time. He talks about drinking; he
thinks about drinking; he drops right down into that category, becomes a
drunkard. A man that's always thinking about vulgar things; he looks at vulgar
things; he thinks of vulgar things; he reads vulgarity...
