DEUTERONOMY 13:1 - 5

»     1     †      ¶  If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

DEUTERONOMY 13:2

»     2     †     And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

DEUTERONOMY 13:3

»     3     †     Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

DEUTERONOMY 13:4

»     4     †     Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

DEUTERONOMY 13:5

»     5     †     And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

DEUTERONOMY 18:20 -22

»     20     †     But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

DEUTERONOMY 18:21

»     21     †     And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

DEUTERONOMY 18:22

»     22     †     When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

«  528       †          Therefore, it's the Word, or nothing. That's right. He, the Word! How do you know it's right? He, the Word, is vindicated. See? He, the Word, properly vindicated, is the Headship, the Head of the Church. He is the Word, the Headship. He is properly identificate, identified, vindicated, by His Own Spirit being in the Church Itself, the person. Showing forth Himself, in vindication, is the direct proof to the entire Body. You don't need creeds, then. Denominations has perished. But the Headship Itself, recognized in the Body by personal identifications, see, identifying Himself, proves the Headship to the Body. Then, we are united under One vindicated Headship, that is, Christ, the Word of God [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] not under any church.

«  529       †          Then, our Headship is a Kingdom. "The Kingdom of God is within you," said the Bible, Jesus. The Kingdom! We are not a denomination. We belong to a Kingdom, and the Kingdom is the Word of God made Spirit and Life in our own life, bringing to pass every promise in this day, as it did in that day when the Word and God was one. And the Word and God is one in His Church today, making It the Headship of the Body that is redeemed, to bring the Message in the last day; and be taken up from the dead, in the resurrection, to go back and restore again, as Adam and Eve, in the beginning in the garden of Eden. The threefold mystery of God, His Body! Oh, my!

«  E-31       †        And then, him being a prophet, the lightnings flashed and he saw the vision of the coming of God. He knew that his skin worms would destroy his body, but he said, "Yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself. Mine eyes shall behold, and not another. For we brought nothing into this world; it's certain we take nothing out. The Lord gave, the Lord taken away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord." He stayed on that shed blood and the Word, the promise. He was spiritual. He was a prophet. Looked like God turned His back on him but just to try and see if he would stay with the Word.

We're all tried. Every Christian, every son, every child that comes to God is tried by the Word, see if you'll be loyal to It. When the showdown comes, what decision are you going to make? That's it. And he that cannot stand chastisement, but goes on with the world, he is a illegitimate child, and not a son or daughter of God. Certainly not.

Now, but the spiritual-minded catches the Word, lines up with It, and the Spirit comes down under the shed Blood and takes that person.

«  E-11       †        Now, sometimes, I will admit this, that our heavenly Father sometimes chastens us with sickness, permitting Satan to do it, to try us sometimes to--to bring us back. If we go out of the way, then our heavenly Father might let something happen to us to bring us back. But it'll only be for the good. See? The chastening of our Father is not pleasant for a season, but finally it brings... All things work together for good to them that love the Lord. And if I was way away from God and out of the will of our heavenly Father, why, if God would just... That He could do something for me and--and help me to come back, why, I would appreciate our heavenly Father, wouldn't you?

«  103       †          There you are, friends. When God makes a promise, and the opposition rise, that's only to test whether you've really got the Word, or not. The man that's got good gold don't mind going to the touching stone. See? That's true. See? It's only a... Peter said, I believe it was, that, "These trials are come to test us, try us," see what we'll do with it. That's right. When you get the Holy Ghost, and--and husband is going to run you out of the house, or--or mother is going to make you leave home, them things, don't give up and go back into the world. That's only a testing time.

«  351       †        God, help our unbelief. Take it away from us, Lord. We want to receive rapturing grace. We want to be able when that mysterious thunder thunders out yonder, and the Church is taken up, we want to be ready to receive it, Lord. Grant it. Try us, Lord, by Thy Word. Let us look into It, and if we see that we have failed...

If there are those here, Lord, who were baptized in titles, knowing nothing about the real true baptism, may I be as faithful as Paul when he passed through the upper coast of Ephesus and he found disciples screaming and shouting and having a glorious time. He said unto them, "Have you received then the Holy Ghost since you believed?" They know not whether there be any. He said, "Then to what was you baptized?" And they'd been baptized by that glorious holy prophet, but they only baptized unto repentance; then they were rebaptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. And Paul commanded them to be baptized over again.

«  222       †          Oh, He may permit crossroads. He may permit crossroads to try us, to perfect us for His service. He may permit that now, Church, both here and on tape. He may permit the crossroads for our service.

223    Like He did Daniel. He give Daniel a little crossroad one day. You know, he was a great man down in Babylon. He did, He let the king turn against him and throw him in the lions' den. It only perfected him. Sure did!

224    Let the Hebrew children go into the fiery furnace. They was determined to stand for His Word!

225    He may permit cross words, let them laugh at you for having long hair, let them laugh at you for saying why you become a holy-roller or whatever more. It may, they may let you laugh... they may laugh at you for that, that, that, that's all right. That's a crossroad, that's a little junction. That's to prove something.

226    See, the only thing that the crossroad did to the Hebrew children that stood on the Word, it only loosed them from the bands they had around their feet and legs.

«  216       †          You say, "But, Brother Branham, what about my mother and dad, what about my people, what about my denomination, what--what will they do? They'll cast me out. Is it..." If you can't look ahead, look up. Don't try to look ahead, anyhow, put your hand in His. Let Him lead you. Look up, don't look ahead. You say, "Why, why others make fun of me about my long hair, and me taking off shorts, and about me leaving the church." Huh! Suffering for His Name's sake is growing pains of His grace. Yeah. Suffering for His Word, see, is growing pains of His grace. Yes, sir! Just remember, it's the grace of God has been given to you. Oh, my!

«  180       †          And when somebody begins to make fun of you, say, "She is old fashion. Look at him, he's... Oh, I'll tell you, he used to be..."All right, just remember, it's growing pains. That's that persecution is good for you. It's growing pains.

181    Oh, yes, He permits crosses and crossroads and junctions. He always does that, in order to perfect us for His service. He permits those things to happen. Can't you understand that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] He does that so He can perfect you for the calling He has called you for. That's your growing pains. He did Daniel that way, you know.

182    He did the Hebrew children, in the fiery furnace. What did the fiery furnace do? The fiery furnace only broke the bands that had them bound. That's all the furnace did, just burnt loose the bands.

«  173       †          The others say, "Well, but the church says..." That has got nothing to do with It. You're not born to do that.

174    You're born into the Word, for you're born into Christ. Christ is the Word, yes, sir, each one in its age.

175    You say, "Well, I'll just tell you, Brother Branham, I can't look ahead."

176    Then look up. God promised, if you'd look up, see Him; shalom, peace, God's peace rest you.

177    You say, "Then why does others make fun of me, Brother Branham? You know, others make fun of me, and saying I--I got 'long hair,' I'm 'old fashion,'" to the women. The man, "Because I believe the Bible, 'You don't have fellowship with us no more. We can't accept you because that--that you believe such-and-such.'"

178    And you know it's exactly the way the Word is written. God is duty bound to you, to back That up then. He certainly is. Don't matter about that, why they say to make fun of. God is a jealous God. Remember, suffering for His Word's sake is growing pains of His grace. When you suffer for His Word's sake, it's just growing pains.

179    You know how a little kid, ten, twelve years old, gets pains. Come in, say, "Mama, my arms hurt and my legs are hurting," so forth. It's growing pains. It shows he has got some good vitamins. He is growing up.

«  24       †          And I don't want to get started on this, because I said that it... I was just going to speak a few minutes.

25    But I think, today, when we see our sisters wearing long hair, as the Bible said they should, I think it's a Nazarite sign that they want to follow the Lord. And I know that sounds flat, and I--I--I want it to go home, see, because it is. It looks like somebody is trying to--to do, keep a--a something that God told them to do. No matter what the price, the world has to say about It out there, or how many scornful, or laughers, or critics, that doesn't bother a person that's totally separated from the things of the world, to the things of God. They'll obey the Word, and separate themselves from the things of the world, because the Word separates them.

26    I know they stand criticism. But if we wasn't criticized, then there'd be something wrong. The world always knows its own. But as I've said, that, remember, criticism, on account of the Word of God, is only growing pains of His grace. It shows that you have separated yourself to--to be a Christian, to act like one, to live like one, to obey every Commandment of God. And it's a--it's a Nazarite vow, to separate, a call from God that separates you from the things of the world.
