EPHESIANS 1:3-6

»     3     †      ¶  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

EPHESIANS 1:4

»     4     †     According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

EPHESIANS 1:5

»     5     †     Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

EPHESIANS 1:6

»     6     †     To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

GALATIANS 4:1-8

»     1     †      ¶  Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

GALATIANS 4:2

»     2     †     But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

GALATIANS 4:3

»     3     †     Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

GALATIANS 4:4

»     4     †     But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

GALATIANS 4:5

»     5     †     To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

GALATIANS 4:6

»     6     †     And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

GALATIANS 4:7

»     7     †     Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

GALATIANS 4:8

»     8     †      ¶  Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

«  19       †        Tell me, my brother, tell me, my sister, when was the time that the sons of God was ever to be manifested outside of this time now? When were there ever a time in the history, this that ma--manifest the time to deliver all nature? Nature, the nature itself is groaning, waiting for the time of the manifestation. Why, before the atonement was made, before the Holy Ghost was ever poured out, before all the--all the Old Testament, on down there, there couldn't have been manifestation. It had to wait till this time. Now, all things has been brought, coming, shaping up to a headstone, to the manifestation of sons of God coming back, and the Spirit of God coming into these men, so perfectly, until their ministry will be so close like Christ's, till it'll join Him and His church together.

«  105       †          Now, in all ages, God has set forth so much of His Word for each age. God always sends somebody that that Word can get into and show the Light of It. That, every age, it does the same thing, always does that.

106    He was the fulfillment, as I said, of all of the Divine, holy powers of the prophets. They were minor gods. When the Word of the Lord came to a man, Jesus said, Himself, that he was a god. You know that. He said, "If your law said, and your fathers back there, called them, who the Word of God came to, called them 'gods,' how can you condemn Me, saying, when I said, 'I'm the Son of that God'?" See?

When, the very God Himself, Who spoke the Word through the prophets, He was the manifestation of that spoken Word. And if the prophet was called a god, because he was the manifestation of another prophet's Word, how can you condemn Him when He was the same thing? He was the Son of God, as He shall be called the Son of God.

107    He was the long-promised Messiah that the world had waited on. He was the Messiah's promise made manifest.

«  33       †          Nothing can live, natural or spiritual, without His Light, and His Word is Light and Life.

34    But when He sends His Light and makes It known to the people, and then It is rejected, then what about that? That's what we want to talk about this morning, is: rejecting this Light, by them It's sent to, rejects it just like it was then. "Behold My Servant, Whom I have delighted in." He's the Light to the Gentiles. He's the Light to the world. He was the Light of the world, but He was rejected. That's the sad part.

35    And it meets that condition every time that God manifests His Light, the world itself rejects that Light. Why? It's written right in the Bible. Each age, God has lotted so much of His Word for each age, and He always sends somebody to manifest that Word.

«  95       †          So, in each age, when God lots His Word for each age, then, when that Word is ready to be manifested. Now search the Scriptures; don't just take my word. When that Word is ready to be manifested, then God sends down a prophet and reveals the Word to His prophet. The Bible said, "The Word of the Lord came to the prophets. And He does nothing till He reveals it to His prophets." A prophet is who the... where the Word of the Lord came, like in the days of Noah, and the days of--of Elijah, and the days of--of Moses, and so forth. Jeremiah, and Isaiah, and who more could I say, that, He came to that. And they manifested, or fulfilled, that Word.

«  129       †          In type, Moses coming from the Presence of God, with the Word of God for that age. Now watch, we're now in Exodus 19. Don't miss this now. Exodus 19, Moses is coming from the Presence of God, or 20 and 21, 19:20 and 21. Moses is coming from the Presence of God. He has been into the Word. The Word has been wrote. And he, in the Presence of God, with the Word, he had the Word for that age. There is a Word for each age. And Moses coming forth, his face shined so! See? The Word was in him, ready to be manifested, give out to the people.

130    The true Word, God had wrote It, and It was with Moses. Notice, It was with Moses and was ready to be manifested. He was the Word to them, he was the living Word, hid. Veiled himself, Moses had to put a veil over his own face. Why? He was that Word. Amen. Until that Word was made known, Moses had to veil himself. Amen!

Do you see It? Wherever the Word is, It's veiled.

«  57       †          Now remember, God is the Word, and each age He has lotted the Word for each age that would be on the earth. He lotted It in the church age, and the Seven Seals revealed every bit of It. See?

58    Why did there... was there mysteries that was still hid? Revelations 10, we find, at the end of the seventh angel's Message, that, these mysteries that had been hid would be revealed, Revelations 10:1 to 7. Notice, the reason is because there had been no prophets during this age. The Bible said, that, "God does nothing till He reveals it to His prophets, His servants, the prophets." And the Word of the Lord in all ages has always come to the prophets, never to a system, never to a group.

«  112       †        Having predestinated us unto--unto...

What does the word "unto" mean, the word "unto"? It means there's something we're coming to, unto. "I am going unto the fountain. I am going unto the chair." Brother Humes, you get that? "I'm going unto the desk."

(Now.)... He predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according as his own good pleasure of his will,

How much pleasure? Whose pleasure was it, whose goodness? His Own, His own good pleasure of His Own Will.

60-0518  ADOPTION.2_  JEFFERSONVILLE.IN  AD.2  WEDNESDAY_

«  114       †        Now, what is adoption? Now, let me get this now; I don't know whether... I won't have time to get through this, but I'll hit it. Then if there's a question, you can a--ask me a little later on sometime in the message, something. Listen. Your adoption is not your birth. Your adoption is your placing. When you were borned again, John 1:17, I believe. When we are borned of the Spirit of God we are sons of God. But we were predestinated. Now, here's what I'm trying to get you to, for this sons of the last day (You see?), to the... See? We were predestinated to--unto adoption.

Now, now here we are. Now, this is what hurts Pentecostal a little. They say, "I got borned again. Praise the Lord, got the Holy Ghost!" Fine. You're a child of God. That's right. But yet that ain't what I'm talking about. See, you were predestinated unto adoption. Adoption is placing a son.

I'm too close to that, 'cause Becky told me that I get too close to it; you can't hear in the back. I am. See?

60-0518  ADOPTION.2_  JEFFERSONVILLE.IN  AD.2  WEDNESDAY_

«  117       †        A child... How many knows the rules of adoption in the Old Testament? Of course, you've... Look. A son was born. I believe I got it in some sermon. What is that, Gene, you remember? It's on a tape. Oh, what was that? I--I--I--I've struck on it. Oh, yeah, I got it, "Hear Ye Him," "Hear Ye Him," the adoption of children.

Now, in the Old Testament, when a--when a child was borned in a family, he was a child when he was born, because he was borned of his parents; he was a son of the family and heir of all things. Now, but this son was raised by tutors: Galatians, 5th chapter, 17th to the 25th verse. All right. He was raised by tutors, raisers, teachers. Now, for instance, if I had a son born, now, say, I'm a father and...
