E-31 How many in here ever dreamed a dream,
let's see your... Now see, there's at least two-thirds
of the people dream dreams. That's about normally. About one-third out of a audience of this size, doesn't dream dreams. There's many people that's never had a dream in their life.
What is a dream? It's your subconscious.
Now, say here's a normal man standing here, the first conscience,
and here's his subconscious. When this becomes
inactive while he's in sleep, why, this one becomes active. While he's in
this one he can dream about things he did in this conscious. Then when this one
is inactive, he comes back into this conscious.

Let's see your hands? Dreamed a dream? Well, there's
at least two-thirds of you. Now, you say, "Well, they all..." No,
sir, there's some people that doesn't dream at all. Is that right? Some people
never dreams a dream.
Now, what is dreaming? Let's take it, in the scientific stand.
We're taught that a dream is your subconscious in action. Here's your real
conscious, your first conscious. And when you go to sleep here, your
subconscious comes on. Now, God can deal in dreams, but it's not too accurate. He did with Joseph,
and King Nebuchadnezzar, and Joseph the foster father of Jesus, and so forth.
He did. And many times, if there's an interpreter of dreams, dreams are all
right, if they're of God, but they're not too accurate, especially in this day.

E-20 There is a--a conscious and a subconscious.
It's just like a--a... If we start overseas and by ship... And there's a man
setting up here; he's the one who gives the--the orders. The man goes down in
the ship to run the ship down here, well, he don't see where he's going, but he
just takes orders from up above. Well now, he--he says, "Steer to the left
or to the right or give this engine more and that," or whatever it is. He
just works by orders.
But way down in the midst of us, here in our heart, is
the subconscious, and it takes orders from up here. Well now, you've heard me
on the platform many times, no doubt. I was just hearing a tape from--from the

conscious, right here, the conscious you live in now. We're taught by science
that you're dreaming, you're in your subconscious. Did
you ever see a person dreaming? You think you dreamed all night. It isn't that
long. [Brother Branham snaps his fingers--Ed.] Just a moment, you...?... a little bit. You've done dreamed hours of dreams,
you think.
But just a moment, a flash while it's going through... The person that's dreaming is not sound asleep. But you
people here who--who does not dream dreams, your subconscious will be back to a
place where you do not reach to it in sleep. You can't help that; you can't
help it. You were born that way. Something that has the rulership
over you, and made you, made you that way; you can't help it. And you people
who dream dreams, you can't help that. Wasn't it... You don't have no control of it; it's your subconscious.

you. Here's the first... What are you doing when you are
dreaming? It's a subconscious. Do you all agree, hear that? Now, look. Here is
a man in his first conscience. Here's the man in his second conscience, his
subconscious. Now, when this one is inactive, this one becomes active.
You dream dreams. Many of you dream. You dreamed dreams years ago;
you still remember them tonight, that you dreamed
year... Is that right? Well, what part of you was where? If you still remember
it. When you come back here, you remember what you dreamed of. And when you're
dreaming, you dream of things that you did out here. That's that
dual conscience. That's the reason people say, "Oh, I got faith Brother
Branham." It's this first conscience. Let it get down in to this one time
and watch what happens, when they both go to agreeing together. See? All right.
But it's just up here, a knowledge belief. But when it comes down
here, it becomes a reality, when they're both in agreement with that up there.
See? They all three agree then. But now, when this... There's
some people that doesn't dream a dream, you in here that doesn't dream. You're
very sound sleepers, aren't you? Your subconscious would be back there at the
wall. You would never get to it.

E-29 Now on this subconscious, when
this outer conscious becomes inactive, this conscious becomes active to a
dreamer. Now, let's give just a little illustration. Here's the first
conscious. Here's the normal man, his subconscious. When this one is
active--inactive at nighttime when he's asleep, then this one's active.
Many of you people that dreamed dreams years ago, you still
remember it don't you? Well, there was some part of you somewhere, because
after you're awake, you remember what you dreamed of. Is that right? And
sometime when you're dreaming, you dream of things that you did when you was in this conscious. Is that right?
But now, the man that doesn't dream a dream, his subconscious is
way back. Even an anesthetic wouldn't throw him back, 'cause he sleeps real
sound. Now, a dreamer doesn't sleep sound. He's not altogether asleep.
E-30 Now, but a seer, or
prophet... Now, I'll admit there's gift of prophecy that goes in a church, but
that's not a prophet. A prophet's borned.
See? Now, he must be from childhood up and every word right. See?
Now, the seer, his subconscious is not back by the wall,
neither is it here. It's right here: they're both
right together. He doesn't go to sleep; he just breaks from one to another. See? It's just like a
dream, yet you're conscious, you're--you're standing here, yet it's just like
you was dreaming something, and yet you're conscious enough that you can talk
about it. And you know your voice is coming back in the in the building, yet
you're somewhere else, maybe thirty, forty years, back, or forward, or whatever
it would be.
Try that once, and you wouldn't write me
any letters and asking me why I get so weak and have to be packed from the
platform. See, see? It's something that you... It's a dual condition. It's the
other dimension. It's not, perhaps, the fourth or fifth dimension, if you want
to speak of it scientifically. It's out where God lives

64 As I was saying a few days ago, either here
or somewhere, speaking on the lie detector. Now, notice close now. I want you
pay close attention. Put a lie detector on you, and you try to impersonate
the--that truth, and try to say that it's truth, but down on the inside of you,
in the
subconscious, lays a place called the soul. And this intellectual mind does not
govern that vibration of the system. The mind is only a director. It will
direct you, and it's very incapable of bringing you to God: your mind. You
cannot know God by your mind, intellectual. It's one of the resources, or the
channels that would lead to it, but your soul is what governs you. You are what
you are, by your soul.
Jesus said to the Pharisee, said, "Why, you hypocrites. How
can you speak good things?"
When, they was calling Him, "Good
Master," and so forth.
Said, "Out of the abundance of the heart speaketh
the lips. And in your heart you hate Me. And in your
lips you call Me, 'Good Master."' He said,
"You hypocrites."
See, your soul is thinking one thing, and you're speaking
with your lips another thing. What a case. What a horrible thing. What a
deceitful thing is a hypocrite. For our
of their mind they say one thing, when their soul says another thing.

in His universe. He speaks out to His people. You believe that? Now, we
have to hurry; we can stay on that for hours. God is in His Word. Do you
believe that? Every Word of God is a Seed. Jesus said so. The Word is a Seed.
And what the seed is, it'll produce just exactly what the seed is. If you...
In the Bible He was called Jehovah-jireh,
Jehovah-rapha, and Jehovah our banner, Jehovah-manasses, all those redemptive names, all that was
promises, Who Jehovah was. Every Divine promise of God will come to pass if it fall in the right ground.
Here's what happens, here. Many times people, I notice in the
meeting, watching these tapes as they come back through the lines of
discernment. The people will be setting there, look like they're
a million miles away. They don't even be... They don't think of something...
They're even thinking about healing. But it's not their intellect here working;
it's their subconscious a working. Your subconscious is your soul.

subconscious. You have to go to sleep to get into that conscious."
"You just told me," said, "I found something,
Brother Branham. Again, I can't explain it." Said, "It's not your
nerves." He said, "It's something inside of your nerves."

makes you what you are."

E-27 Now, if you notice, the
subconscious is where you live. That's where you, yourself live. That's the
reason people, it's hard for them to have faith. Up
here, first, they say," Yes, I got faith," but down in here something
says, "but it's not for you."
It's like a ship going across the sea. The man up here in the--in
the deck, you look at him, you say he's running the ship. No, he isn't running
the ship. The man down in the bowels of the ship is running the ship: the
engineer. Now, what if he'd ring a sign down through and say, "So many
knots forward." And the man down there would ring and go backwards? What
if he'd say, "Go to the right," and he'd turn to the left? He
couldn't steer it. The man down at--he--down in the inside is one that sends
the ship.
Well, this fellow up here says, "I believe God heals, and I
believe He's the same yesterday, today and forever."
And your subconscious down there says, "But it's not
for you." And you see...

E-45 Now, what is the seer? What is a vision?
It's another dimension. It's another... Outside the five... It's a sixth sense.
I want to ask you something. How many in here ever... You know you got a subconscious,
don't you? We are conscious of that. That's the fellow, that
subconscious is causing you all the trouble tonight. It don't
agree with this one out here. It's scared and backs up. But when it becomes in
harmony with this one, and this one becomes in harmony with God's Word, you
got--you're going then.
But now, watch. Say, here's--here's your first and second
conscience. Here's the first conscience. Here's the second conscience. A normal
man, you're--when you're dreaming, you're dreaming in your subconscious. How
many in here ever dreamed a dream, let's see your hand? Well, there is at least two thirds of you. That's about right. There's about one third of the people that never dream a
dream. They never had a dream in their life.

E-28 Now, if you get that man up there to say,
"forward," this man down here say,
"Forward," you'll go forward. If you can get God to say, "I'm
the Lord that healeth thee," this first
conscious said, "I am the Lord that healeth
thee," and the subconscious said, "I am the Lord that healeth thee," you're going forward. But when God
says, "I'm the Lord that healeth thee," and
the subconscious said--or this conscious said, "I believe it's so,"
and the subconscious said, "Are you quite sure?" Then you're not
going anywhere. You're just run around in circles. See? You've
got to get both--all working together, here, here, and there, all in harmony.
Then you can move forward; there's nothing can stand in your way then; you're
moving forward.

E-31 Then if Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever," you'll have to admit
that Jesus Christ will produce the same things or the Scripture is not
inspired. (I'm taking the infidel's side now, to bring it out. So I can get you
quiet 'fore you--'fore we get started in the meeting.) That's right.
Those things are either right or wrong. And no man's worth any
more than his word is. If my word's no good, then I'm no good. If God's Word is
not true, then I couldn't believe it; there's nothing to it. But I have found this, that God will keep every Word that He says. It has to
be. If you just get your heart set straight in

If you want to receive the Holy Ghost, let me tell you something,
my dear sister, if you're here. And--and--I... Brother Neville, is that a
member of the church here? [Brother Branham has conversation with Brother
Neville--Ed.] At the bottom there. I don't--I don't
remember them either. But if--if you're here, Sister
B-o-u-g-h, if you're here, let me tell you. The Bible said,
"Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness
sake..." You're so blessed to even want It. See?
Now, remember, not that you--you--you've got It, but blessed are they that
hunger and thirst for It, "for they shall be filled." Just stay right
with it.
"What must I do for my family?" Use the same faith that
you're using for yourself, for your family. Commit them to the Lord and believe
with all your heart that you're going to be saved. Let it... Don't let it just
come on your natural thinking here, let it drop way down on the inside, that subconscious,
then they're yours. God's give them to you when you've got it down here.
Whatever you have in your heart here and ask for it, when you
pray, believe that you receive what you ask for. Now, you can't doubt it no
more. You can't believe it and doubt it the same time. How many knows that? You
can't believe and doubt at the same time. You've got to believe that what you
ask for, you receive it, then He said it would be
given to you. So you just believe for your family, and they'll get it.

70 Now, this person, what if you
could ever get this soul on the inside, so in harmony with God, that your soul
and God would be one together, then you could ask what
you will, and it shall be given to you.
Many people come to me, many times in the prayer line,
and stand there, and say, "Oh, Brother Branham, I have plenty faith. I've
got faith like to move mountains." And, yet, they haven't any faith. They
hardly have enough faith to get to the platform. But they are conscious of one thing, that they do believe. They are
believing intellectually with their mind. And their mind will never
bring them to God. Your mind is reasonings. And God
has no reasonings.
72 If you can reason it out, your mind will
tell you, "Now, looky here, the doctor says I
can't get over that. It's impossible."
Now, the doctor, with his intellects, with His intelligence, with
His knowledge of medical science, he's told you the best of the travel of his
mind. And you taking your mind, and using the same thing the doctor has told
you, you... God can never touch that line, as long as you reason. But let's put
down reasoning. God never made us to live by our
intellect. We live by the Holy Spirit that's in our soul, that says
"no" to any reasonings
that's contrary to God's Word.
