From Moral to Immortality  Pt. 37 (Revelation to Reveal)

II TIMOTHY 1:10

10    But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

REVELATION 1:1

REVELATION 1:3

3       Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.

16-3 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

"The time is at hand." The time was not at hand previously. In the wisdom and economy of God this mighty revelation (though fully known to God) could not come forth hitherto. Thus we immediately learn a principle--the revelation of God for each age can come in that age only, and at a specific time. Look at the history of Israel. The revelation of God to Moses came only at a specific time of history, and even more specifically it came as the people cried unto God. Jesus, Himself, came at the fulness of time, He being the complete Revelation of the Godhead. And in this age (Laodicean) the revelation of God will come in its due time. It will not falter, neither will it be premature. Think on this and heed it well, for we are in the end-time today.

13-1 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

This book is usually termed the Revelation of Saint John, but that is incorrect. It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John for Christians of all ages. It is the only book in the entire Bible that is written by Jesus Himself, through personally appearing to a scribe.

13-2 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

It is the last book of the Bible, yet it tells the beginning and the end of the dispensations of the Gospel.

13-3 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

Now the Greek word for revelation is "apocalypse" which means "unveiling". This unveiling is perfectly described in the example of a sculptor unveiling his work of statuary, exposing it to the onlooker. It is an uncovering, revealing what was previously hidden. Now the uncovering is not only the revelation of the Person of Christ, but it is THE REVELATION OF HIS FUTURE WORKS IN THE ONCOMING SEVEN CHURCH AGES.

14-2 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

Now I said that this Book of Revelation is the revelation of Jesus and what He is doing in the churches for those seven ages. It is a revelation because the disciples, themselves, didn't know these recorded truths. It had not been previously revealed to them. You remember that they came to Jesus in the Book of Acts and asked Him, "Are You at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" And He said, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons." Those men were still thinking of Jesus having an earthly kingdom. But it was a spiritual kingdom that He was going to build. Even He could not tell them about His place in it, for the Father had not revealed it unto Him. But now after His death and resurrection, and at this particular time in His mediatorial ministry, He is able to set forth here in this revelation of Himself to John what His glory and presence in the church would mean and do.

HEAR.YE.HIM_  YAKIMA.WA  SATURDAY_  60-0806

E-48    In the old world, they used to take the gold, and the beater would beat it, beat the dross out of it. And how he knowed he had it all out, when his own reflection come into the gold. He had all the dirt out of it, and all the dross. And that's the way God does His church. He beats it with the power of the Gospel, telling them, telling them over, give them on this side, and on that side, and beating out all the world, and all the doubt, until the reflection of Jesus Christ comes back into the church, that the church can see Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever, till we can see the reflection, the church moving in the power of God, just like Jesus was here on earth. He's reflecting Himself in the church.

WHY_  SHREVEPORT.LA  SATURDAY_  60-1126

E-9    Last night speaking... We believe that we are living in the last days (You believe that, don't you?) just ere the coming of the Lord Jesus. And then how that God in the beginning when Jesus came on earth, He said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not; but if I do the works of My Father, then believe the works." If you couldn't believe Him as a Man, why, believe the works that follows the Man.

And we found out talking last night, that God first revealed Himself in a Pillar of Fire. Then He revealed Himself in His Son. Now He reveals Himself in the Church (See?), same God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit (See?) in the Church. All right. God above us, God with us, God in us is what it is.

PATMOS.VISION_  JEFF.IN  ROJC 69-130  SUNDAY_  60-1204E

Goes from His mouth, a sharp two-edged sword, wake up the heathens... Something's got to happen one of these days. Yes. The Word of God, His Name was the Word of God, the Word made manifest. Look, Jesus said, "Go into all the world," Mark 16, His last salute to the church before He returns to reveal Himself in the church age. He commissioned the church, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." What? Preach the Gospel. Mark 16, "Preach the Gospel to every creature." What is that? In other words, demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost: had to be.

FEAST.OF.THE.TRUMPETS_  JEFF.IN  V-3 N-16  SUNDAY_  64-0719M

14-5    Now, He's been revealed through the church ages (Now, watch.), through the church ages as Son of God. God being a Spirit, the Holy Spirit, He revealed Himself in the church ages as--in the congregation, as the Holy Spirit among the people.

We find in Laodicea church age, the last church age, He's put out of the church. And nowhere else was He ever put out in any age, but in the Laodicea age. Because they said, "We're rich and have need of nothing."

"And know it not, that you're miserable, poor, naked, and blind, and don't know it."

He was put out of the church age, and then according to Luke 17, He said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." Now, He was reading the same Genesis that we read. Notice in Sodom what taken place. What was it in Sodom? Abraham...

WHY.ARE.WE.NOT.A.DENOMINATION?_  JEFF.IN  V-11 N-7  SATURDAY_  58-0927

180    Now, if you ever notice, watch these church ages; then we'll close. And then in the morning we're going to pick up these other things. Watch. In the... Under the--the golden candlesticks of the Jewish tabernacle in the inside, of the shewbread and so forth, there was seven golden candlesticks. All of you know that. See? There's seven church ages. That speaks of seven church ages alike.

Now if you notice in Revelations 1, we find Jesus standing in the seven church ages, the seven golden candlesticks, when he turned and saw One like the Son of man standing clothed with a... How it was, it was a Bride standing in the candlesticks drawed out.

Now, in the Old Testament, they would take these, this one candle and light it, take the other candle and light off of that one, light off of that one, one off the other one like that, till they made the entire seven candlesticks.

52-4 PATMOS.VISION  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.2

NO LONGER THE PRIEST

Revelation 1:13, "And in the midst of the seven candlesticks One like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle."

53-1 PATMOS.VISION  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.2

There He stands, One like unto the Son of Man. As the jewel is beautified by the mounting of the ring, so He is glorified in the midst of the churches. It is the Lord's Day; for John sees Him standing, not as a priest, but as the coming Judge. The golden girdle is no longer girt around the waist where the priest must wear it as he ministers to God in the Holiest Place, but it is now around His shoulders, for He is not now the priest but the JUDGE. Now has John 5:22 come to pass, "For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son." His service has been rendered. The priesthood is over. The days of the prophecy are finished. He stands girded as the JUDGE.

SEAL.OF.GOD_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-4  FRIDAY_  54-0514

45    Now, for just a little background to start off tonight with The Seal of God...

Don't forget, tomorrow night, we want you to get your questions. And write it out plainly, and lay it up on the platform, early, or on the pulpit, early as you can.

Now, this great subject we had last night... The first night, before last, was the Church and the church age, how that we seen Jesus standing in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, to look upon as Jasper and Sardius stone, the Beginning and the Ending, Reuben and Benjamin. See the seven candlesticks, or seven lampstands standing, and a rainbow over it as a covenant, and how He was--appeared. And His Voice was the Voice of many waters: both Christ and the Church speaking together; with a golden girdle around about the breast part of the Church, covered over, holding, the Gospel holding the righteousness of Christ over the Church. Standing on the brass foundation, Divine judgment, God poured out His Divine judgment upon Christ, and He suffered, the Innocent for the guilty.

16-1 REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

You will recall that I mentioned at the beginning of this message that this Book we are studying is the actual revelation of Jesus, Himself, in the church and His work in the future ages. Then I mentioned that it takes the Holy Spirit to give us revelation or we will fail to get it. Bringing these two thoughts together you will see that it won't take just ordinary study and thinking to make this Book real. It is going to take the operation of the Holy Ghost. That means this Book can't be revealed to anyone but a special class of people. It will take one with prophetic insight. It will require the ability to hear from God. It will require supernatural instruction, not just a student comparing verse with verse, though that is good. But a mystery requires the teaching of the Spirit or it never becomes clear. How we need to hear from God and lay ourselves open and become yielded to the Spirit to hear and know.

51-3    When the wise virgin wants oil--or the unwise virgin, rather, wants oil, and while she's buying it, that's the time that the Bridegroom come. Oh, you Pentecostals, what's the matter? Well, you can't see it unless God shows it to you; that's one thing sure. If--if you wasn't borned back yonder, predestinated to it, you're going to miss it. Blessed are their ears that can hear; blessed are the hearts that can understand, for the time is at hand, every sign pointing to it. See?
